Continental Airlines Pilot Reports UFO - FBI Investigates (May 26th 2008)

The FBI are investigating this incident although all early reports tend to suggest that it was little more than an amateur ‘rocket enthusiast’.

Is this public announcement of an imminent investigation because the fact that a smoke trail was present and it’s a relatively safe bet that this was the result of an amateur rocketeer?

The main reason for the investigation if early media reports are to be believed isn’t to identify the UFO but rather to assess exactly how close the object was and if it posed any kind of threat.

No doubt model rocket enthusiasts will bear the brunt of this investigations as it has already been reported that those in and around the Houston area have already been approached and questioned by the authorities.

Or is this an all too convenient explanation? Unfortunately (and with the information available) as well as being the most convenient it's also undoubtedly the most likely....

HOUSTON -- The FBI and the Federal Aviation Administration said they are investigating a report from a Continental Airlines pilot, who told air-traffic controllers that a possible model rocket with a flaming tail and a trail of smoke was flying ahead of the plane shortly after takeoff Monday.

Although the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force is involved in the investigation, officials said they believe the object was a model rocket.

FAA spokesman Roland Herwig stated: " We don't know for sure what the object was. But we think it might be somebody doing model rocketing…..The pilot saw the rocket and some people saw the rocket's trail. Building rockets is a legitimate hobby, but hobbyists have to let the FAA know what they're doing. "

The pilot spotted the object flying at 5,000 feet about 11 miles east of George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston . Flight 1544 continued its trip from Houston to Cleveland after reporting the object to air traffic controllers. Scott Wilson, a spokesman for the FBI's Cleveland office, said in a story in The Plain Dealer that the plane wasn't in danger and landed safely. Continental Airlines spokeswoman Kelly Cripe declined to discuss what crew members had seen aboard the Boeing 737, which carried 148 passengers. The plane did not change course and was not damaged.

FBI spokeswoman Shauna Dunlap said::

"We don't know if it was a rocket or what…..We will interview everyone and determine the validity of what was seen. "

Robert Morehead, an engineer and president of the Amateur Spaceflight Association in Houston , said model rockets routinely can reach as high as 40,000 feet. He said model rocket enthusiasts are supposed to notify the FAA if a rocket is entering controlled airspace.

Laura Brown, an FAA spokeswoman in Washington D.C. told the Chronicle that model rockets have crossed paths with planes before but have never struck them. She also said that the Memorial Day holiday weekend was a good time for a launch.

Ministry Of Defence Starts UK UFO Archive Release (14th May 2008)

The National Archives (TNA) had a release scheduled for the 14th May, apparently there was an embargoed press announcement which was circulated from Monday. There was also an earlier pre-emptive warning circulated to the national press last week which was also embargoed.

The National Archives virtual press event - UFOs

The National ArchivesFor first time, The National Archives is making 8 Ministry of Defence (MoD) files relating to (Unidentified Flying Objects) UFOs available on Monday 12 May 2008.

The files will be available to download at no charge for the first month, online at the TNA website.

These are the first files to be released by the MoD as part of a 4-year transfer project relating to UFOs. The files are under embargo until the 00.01am 14 May 2008.

Visitors to the site will, in addition to downloading the files, be able to listen to a Podcast from Dr David Clarke, senior lecturer, Hallam University , discussing the files and the release. He has also written a background briefing on UFO files held at The National Archives.

There is also a short videocast from Nick Pope, a British UFO specialist presents a short videocast providing additional explanations. The files cover 1978 to 1987 and contain details on recorded incidents from the Ministry of Defence during this time.

Some of the highlights include:

DEFE 24/1925 - this file contains a long letter and drawings from a member of the public describing his 'physical and psychic contact' with green aliens since he was a child. One of them called Algar was killed in 1984 by another race of beings. The writer says that he visited their bases in the Wirral and Cheshire , whilst his wife reported seeing a UFO shot down over Wallasey Town.

DEFE 31/172 - On 21 February 1982, a group of customers and staff in Tunbridge Wells report an unknown object with green and red flashing lights - seen heading in the direction of Gatwick. (p.22)

DEFE 31/172 - A detailed briefing prepared by the Ministry of Defence for Lord Strabolgi, Government Chief Whip, for debate on UFO's in the House of Lords in January 1979. Paddy Stevens who briefed the Government spokesperson, said, "there is nothing to indicate that UFOlogy is anything but claptrap..." (Page 126-135)

Plus many more.

Indeed, far from this being a surprise it has been a long promised and much anticipated event, regular (and attentive!!) readers may remember that I posted about the MOD release back on the 24th December (2007), writing:

(UK) UFO Researchers Secure Release Of MoD UFO Documentation. “Following sustained pressure by a small number of UFO researchers during the last 8 years, the British Ministry of Defence have decided to release all of their UFO files. (For the full details of the planned release, visit: UK-UFO.org).

Visit: UK-UFO.org

Gary Anthony, Dave Clarke, and Joe McGonagle have been making full use of the Freedom of Information Act and its precursor, the Code of Practice on access to Government information. At considerable personal expense, effort, and investment of time the three of us have submitted a steady stream of requests. As well as making requests ourselves, we actively encouraged and assisted other ufologists to make their own requests.”

Click here to read the full post.

So when you read further articles or postings regarding this imminent disclosure, or when the release of these documents is finally realised, I urge you not to forget the efforts of Dave Clarke et al. Whose efforts are directly responsible for this landmark event, the results of their collective efforts should stand as irrefutable testimony to the enormity of what can be achieved with perseverance, dedication and determination.

In fact, why not visit their website at UK-UFO.org and thank them right now?

But I certainly wouldn't get too excited about the release and I feel it important to stress that there will be NO SMOKING GUN found, or even implications of such but that's not why this is such an interesting release. I personally believe it's such an interesting release so that the general public may finally have some inkling into the inner-workings of the MOD as it relates to UFO reports and I also believe the ineptitude and 'couldn't care less' attitude will prove to be more shocking than yet another ‘aliens stole my dog' report (which the media take a little too much delight in reporting on).

That's not to say there aren't any interesting cases included of course.....

Like the account from air traffic controllers, each with over eight years in the job, they reported that at 4 p.m. on April 19, 1984 a UFO landed at the airport they were working at then took off at an incredible speed.

The men, each with more than eight years on the job, described how they were helping guide a small plane to a landing on runway 22 when they were distracted by a brightly lit object approaching a different runway without clearance.

“Everyone became aware that the object was unidentified…..SATCO (code name for a controller with 14 years experience) reports that the object came in at speed, made a touch and go on runway 27, then departed at terrific speed in a near vertical climb.”

But of course this is merely one of the hundreds of *credible* reports that poses no kind of threat or no *defence significance* or so we're told. Still I don't doubt for a second that the conspiracy theorists will have a field day with what they think has been retained…..

Farewell Sir Arthur Charles Clarke

Sir Arthur C. Clarke who is heralded as a scientific visionary and the acclaimed writer of, “2001: A Space Odyssey” was buried in his adopted country of Sri Lanka where he had lived (Colombo) for over fifty years on Saturday 22 March 2008.

Sir Arthur C. Clarke passed away after experiencing heart failure and respiratory problems at the grand old age of 90 on 19 March 2008.

Sir Arthur's brother, Fred Clarke, attended the funeral along with members of the Ekanayake family, with whom the writer had lived in recent years. A nationwide minute's silence was ordered by the Sri Lankan government to coincide with the ceremony and music from the film 2001: A Space Odyssey was played at the funeral.

A Farewell To Sir Arthur Charles Clarke

"Here lies Arthur C Clarke. He never grew up and did not stop growing," his gravestone in Colombo is to read, in accordance with the author's wishes.

Tamara Ekanayake, who grew up at Sir Arthur's home in Colombo , paid tribute to him at the service, saying: "We feel so privileged that you left your mark on us…..Your footprint will never fade. If anything, it will only magnify what we do. "

Before the funeral, yellow roses were thrown on to Sir Arthur's body as a final gesture of respect as it lay on a white bed beneath curved elephant tusks. Clarke had left specific instructions for his funeral and was quoted as saying that religion was;

“A necessary evil in the childhood of our particular species.”

According to his spokesman Nalaka Gawardene, Sir Arthur's last three wishes were for conclusive proof of extraterrestrial life, clean energy to halt global warming and peace in Sri Lanka during his lifetime.

"Now unfortunately he didn't live long enough to see any of these last wishes come true…..And I think the challenge for all his fans and all his admirers is to make these three wishes come true as early and as comprehensively as possible”

Sir Arthur C. Clarke - Godfather Of The Telecommunications Satellite

A radar pioneer in the Royal Air Force during World War II, Clarke wrote a 1945 article in Wireless World magazine in which he outlined a worldwide communications network based on fixed satellites orbiting Earth at an altitude of 22,300 miles -- an orbital area now often referred to as the Clarke Orbit. His conceptual leap, outlined in a 1945 article in Wireless World magazine, was to propose using a set of satellites in geostationary orbit to form a global communications network

Clarke's seminal article (for which he received payment of $40!!) was published two decades before Syncom II became the world's first communications satellite put into geosynchronous orbit in 1963. And so Clarke is widely credited for pioneering the concept of communications satellites, Clarke received a number of honours, including the 1982 Marconi International Fellowship and the Charles A. Lindbergh Award. Clarke was also named a Grand Master by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America in 1986, won innumerable international awards for his fiction and scientific writing.

"Rendezvous with Rama," his 1973 novel about a space probe sent to explore an enormous celestial object speeding through the solar system that turns out to be a mysterious alien spacecraft, was one of Clarke's greatest critical successes. It won the prestigious Nebula, Hugo and John W. Campbell awards for best novel, as well as the British Science Fiction Associate Award, the Locus Award and the Jupiter Award.

"My God, it's full of stars!!”

Among his best-known science-fiction novels are "Childhood's End," "Rendezvous With Rama," "Imperial Earth" and, most famously, "2001: A Space Odyssey."

"It's better to be recognized for one thing, especially something of which I'm quite proud, than not to be recognized at all ," Clarke told The LA Times in 1982. And what a legacy, “2001: A Space Odyssey” was, with its mysterious monoliths, psychopathic Hal 9000 computer and a final sequence which left many cinema-goers confused has since became frequently-referenced icons of modern cinema.

Clarke also foretold an array of technological notions in his works such as space stations, moon landings using a mother ship and a landing pod, cellular phones and the Internet.

"Nobody has done more in the way of enlightened prediction ," science fiction author Isaac Asimov once wrote.

A Farewell To Sir Arthur Charles ClarkeArthur Charles Clarke was born in Minehead, a town in Somerset in the south-west of England , on 16 December 1917, peered into the heavens with a homemade telescope as a boy. A farmer's son, he was educated at Huish's Grammar School in Taunton before joining the civil service, Clarke grew up to become a visionary titan of science fiction and was knighted for his contributions to literature.

Clarke wrote more than 80 fiction and non-fiction books and more than 100 short stories as well as hundreds of articles and essays. A seer of the modern age, Sir Arthur was an original thinker, a scientific expert whose tales combined technology and good old-fashioned storytelling and whose influence went far beyond the written page.

As well as pioneering works of science fiction, Clarke also appeared on television, most notably in, “Arthur C Clarke's Mysterious World.” The Mysterious World episode on UFOs which was first shown on ITV in 1980 is still relevant today featuring rare interviews with Ken Arnold, Jessie Roestenburg and Bob Taylor.

Arthur C Clarke's Mysterious World - UFO

I'll leave you with Sir Arthur C. Clarke's own words via a BBC report, who while marking his 90th birthday last year, told fans:

"I want to be remembered most as a writer. I want to entertain readers and hopefully stretch their imaginations as well.”

"If I have given you delight by aught that I have done, let me lie quiet in that night, which shall be yours anon."

Anomalous Data & UFO Hot-Spots In The UK

I feel there's something not quite right about the recent results of the Virgin Media Report into UK UFO Hot-Spots. It seems as if every subsequent news report relating to their findings has involved disingenuous data and it's probably to be expected considering the careful wording of the original press release/s.

I'm referring to instances like the statement that Nick Pope, “Supports the study." Not that Nick, “Carried out the study” or, “Assisted” but that he merely supports the study…..

This post isn't so much about UFOs but rather about the poor reporting that is peddled to us every day, this time it just happens to be in regard to UFOs. It may seem a bit banal to highlight the obviously flawed media-machine but it just pisses me off that something as simple as the details of a report could be so badly misinterpreted by virtually ever local newspaper website that subsequently latched onto it.

From the official Virgin Media webpage (virginmedia.com/ufo) that displays the details:

The Top 10 UFO hotspots in the UK

1. West Yorkshire (34)
2. Nottingham (29)
3. Lancashire (24)
4. Shropshire (22)
5. North Somerset and Avon (22)
6. Suffolk (19)
7. South Wales (18)
8. County Durham (17)
9. Lanarkshire (15)
10. Devon (15)

Virgin Media has been tracking data which goes back to 1961, revealing an astounding 609 unexplained sightings across the UK ….. 'The Virgin Media Files' detailing the counties you're most likely to see a UFO, supported by the former head of the Government's UFO project, Nick Pope.

Seems reasonable enough, and the first report I seen online by the Halifax Courier would seem to confirm all of these facts:

Halifax – Courier (14 March 2008)
Halifax – Courier UFO

'The Virgin Media Files' have been compiled from data which goes back to 1961.

Nick Pope said: “While we currently have no explanation why certain places in the UK are alien hot spots, as the research reveals, there are areas where mysterious objects are repeatedly witnessed”

“So people who want to alien-spot should definitely head to Halifax."

Then a day later the exact same online Newspaper ran the following article:

Halifax – Courier (15 March 2008)
Halifax – Courier UFO

There is a UFO sighting every four months in the area, dubbed "West York-fear", according to Virgin Media. The study was conducted by Nick Pope, a former government UFO advisor, and taken from data going back to 1994.

Mr Pope said: "While we currently have no explanation why certain places in the UK are alien hot spots, as the research reveals, there are areas where mysterious objects are repeatedly witnessed.”

“So people who want to alien-spot should definitely head to Yorkshire."

The same newspaper is now saying Nick didn't support the report but actually conducted it. Also instead of 1961 it's now supposed to be, “Taken from data going back to 1994.”

This Is Plymouth (17 March 2008)
This Is Plymouth UFO

People in Plymouth can expect a close encounter of the extra-terrestrial kind - Devon is ranked number 10 in a specially compiled list of Britain 's top 10 UFO hotspots.

'The Virgin Media Files' have been compiled from data which goes back to 1961 and highlight 15 unexplained sightings in Devon alone - including a silent, circular object which was spotted over Barnstaple in 1964.

Bury Free Press (18 March 2008)
Bury Free Press UFO

Strange spheres hovering above Bury St Edmunds have helped to make Suffolk a 'hot spot' for UFOs, according to an expert on the unexplained. With 19 sightings since 1961, the county has come sixth in a list of top 10 places to spot a UFO compiled by Nick Pope, the former head of a Government project looking at UFOs

Sunderland Echo (20 March 2008)
Sunderland Echo UFO

Nick Pope said: “While we currently have no explanation why certain places in the UK are alien hot spots, as the research reveals, there are areas where mysterious objects are repeatedly witnessed.

“So people who want to alien-spot should definitely head to Durham."

This Is Lancashire (21 March 2008)
This Is Lancashire UFO

"While we currently have no explanation why certain places in the UK are alien hot spots, as the research reveals, there are areas where mysterious objects are repeatedly witnessed"

"So people who want to alien-spot should definitely head to Lancashire."

So we have a study that has collected data from either 1961, 1994 or 2000 onwards and it would appear that people who want to alien-spot should definitely head to Halifax or Yorkshire or Durham or Lancashire or.....

Well I'm sure you get the picture and remember these were exact quotes credited to Nick Pope, who in turn may have conducted the study or may have just thought it was a good idea!! Depending entirely on which, “UFO Hot-Spot” locale you are situated closest to, and of course which local news report you are unfortunate enough to read…..

Secret United Nations Meeting on UFO's Confirmed!!

And here's the second (new) article regarding the secret UN UFO meeting:

Secret United Nations Meeting on UFO's Publicly Confirmed by French Expert

A French aviation expert has come forward to reveal his participation in a secret meeting held at the United Nations New York headquarters that discussed the UFO phenomenon from February 12-14. Gilles Lorant is an attaché to the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique ( CNRS- National Center for Scientific Research) which is a government-funded research organization, under the administrative authority of France 's Ministry of Research. He is also a member Institute of Advanced Studies for National Defense (IHEDN - the French Organization that produced the 1999 COMETA Report). Both CNRS and IHEDN are prestigious scientific organizations in France , and Lorant was invited to attend the UN meetings in a professional capacity. A report released by a French UFO organization (Federation of European Airplane ), of which Lorant is an executive member, contained a summary of the UN meeting where he describes what happened at the meeting.

Lorant revealed that a series of UN meetings were held over a three day period. In the meetings there was discussion of a confidential report, prepared by the U.S. Air Force and a branch of the National Guard, concerning the societal impact of UFO sightings. The initial meeting was held on February 12 and, according to Lorant's report, led to a request by three U.S. Senators for further discussions. Additional meetings were held immediately after on February 13 and 14. The implication is that three U.S. Senators attended the secret UN meetings. The meetings were very concerned about social upheaval from continued UFO sightings and the testimonies of individuals claiming to have first hand knowledge about UFO's, extraterrestrial life, and future global events. It was reported that adverse public reactions to UFO sightings could have a dramatic economic impact that could lead to recessions in some countries.

The emphasis on possible societal upheaval due to growing UFO sightings was reminiscent of recommendations of the 1953 Robertson Panel, convened by the CIA, which identified adverse public reactions as a major security threat that could be exploited by foreign enemies. The UN discussions appeared to match concerns identified in both the 1953 Robertson Panel and the 1961 Brookings Report to the U.S. Congress, over ramifications of UFO reports and the eventual discovery of extraterrestrial life.

2009 was raised as the year when an important change in official attitudes concerning the UFO phenomenon could be made. This suggested that the official debunking policy underway since the 1953 Robertson Panel would be abandoned and more serious study of the UFO phenomenon would occur. This indicated an important policy shift were the study of UFO's would be officially encouraged. However, certain global conditions would have to be met for the official opening. Most important appeared to be social stability in G-8 countries and the maintenance of liberal democratic systems in developing nations. Lorant also suggested that an official opening in attitudes would only occur if UFO sightings continued to occur at present levels.

Lorant's testimony provides independent corroboration for an anonymous source who first came forward on February 12 to reveal to two New York researchers (Clay and Shawn Pickering) that the UN meeting had taken place. The source's testimony was revealed in two articles published by this author on February 13 and 20 , and a follow up article by Robert Morningstar on Feb 25. Lorant's testimony gives more detailed information of what happened at the meeting, and is consistent with statements from the original source of the UN meeting concerning approximately 40 participants, multiple issues being discussed as well as the UFO phenomenon, and public reactions to increased UFO sightings. Most importantly, Lorant provides insight into reasons for a significant change in official public policy towards the UFO phenomenon.

The reported results of the UN meetings indicate agreement was reached for an international strategy to more seriously study the UFO phenomenon in a manner that maintains present levels of social stability. This raises the possibility that those presenting information on UFOs/extraterrestrial life deemed to threaten national stability or financial systems, would receive special attention by national security agencies. The meetings results suggest that an official change in government policy from 'debunking' to 'openness' concerning UFO's would lead to official approval to narrowly define study of the UFO phenomenon. However, those claiming to have first hand experience of extraterrestrial life would be targeted as charlatans. The UN meeting thereby suggested continuation of policies aimed at exploiting divisions in the UFO community between researchers advocating a strictly scientific study of the UFO phenomenon, and those wishing to discuss testimonies/documentation concerning extraterrestrial life visiting Earth.

Lorant's testimony finally suggests that governments are being driven to more open approach to the UFO phenomenon due to the recent increase sightings that are projected to continue well into 2009. What follows is a summary report of the UN meetings based on Lorant's testimony that appears in a newsletter of the FEA.

Michael E. Salla, Ph.D

Newsletter No. 4 of the F.E.A, 25.02.2008
Posted by Jean-Jacques Yvars …

Dear Friends,

For strictly professional reasons and by coincidence, an active member of the FEA was invited to the UN in New York in the week starting February 11, 2008. This person took part in the development of discussions on the subject of UFOs, after the meeting of February 12. These discussions at the United Nations, brought forth further deliberations during three conferences held behind closed doors on 13 and 14 February, to which our member had the honor and pleasure to attend.

Here is a summary of the minutes that Mr. Gilles Lorant, invited to the meetings, kindly shared with us about what was said at the United Nations in New York :

On 12 February, the U.S. Air Force and the National Guard would actually presented a report on the subject of UFOs and the impact of sightings on many communities in the United States . Since this report was considered important for industrialized countries, representatives from several countries were invited to attend. Then, at the request of three United States Senators, a series of three meetings took place in the [two] following days, in the presence of representatives of forty representatives from twenty-eight member countries, including the Vatican (two countries did not send representatives). On both days, the subject of UFO's was discussed, for no more than an hour and a half, as one of the causes of social upheaval of a country, due to the high probability of economic recession resulting from the speeches of 'contactees', charlatans, religious [figures], some scientists and prophecies. Sightings of UFOs increase sharply the risk of social unrest threatening the political systems of several emerging democracies.

According to Mr. Gilles Lorant, what was discussed was an opening in official attitudes when publicly considering, in future, how to treat the UFO phenomenon.

An official opening to be held under two conditions:

1) Until the end of 2009, that social peace in the G8 countries is guaranteed around the liberal democratic model ( US version)

2) By the end of 2009, that the UFO sightings disturbing "our neighbors" continues throughout the world.

Furthermore, also discussed was what position to adopt in case a non-aligned country decided to make public their findings on the [UFO] topic. The atmosphere was rather serious, according to Mr. Lorant, the participants were, in fact, cognizant of the "presence of our neighbors" in our environment.

Conclusion

The suggestion agreed upon at the United Nations by the representatives of the 28 nations, in the course of these exchanges, is of paramount importance for public recognition of the topic. The official treatment of information relating to UFOs could be a turning point at the international level, if the circumstances remain favorable. The coming years could show a surprising development of papers on the subject on the part of our governments.

Secret UFO Meeting at UN - Confirmation & Update

I posted an article a couple of weeks ago (17 February 2008) by Michael Salla stating that, Source at U.N. tells of secret UFO meeting,” this was pertaining to an alleged meeting that occurred on February 12, 2008. I generally like to provide a commentary to anything that I include in this Blog, but due to the length of the articles to start with I've decided to just include the information as it was received, there has been a couple of articles posted since the original, here's the first…..

Confirmation & Update on Secret UFO Meeting at UN

I recently circulated an article describing a secret meeting that allegedly occurred at the New York office of the United Nations discussing UFOs/extraterrestrial life. The confidential source for the meeting is presently working as a member of the diplomatic community who relayed this information to two New York based researchers, Shawn and Clay Pickering. I am pleased to announce that I have received independent confirmation that the alleged meeting did occur on the morning of February 12, 2008 as Clay's and Shawn's source claimed. I was also given information by an independent source, who I believe is very reliable, on what transpired at the meeting. It was claimed that a document had been circulated at the meeting, and was now being relayed to key ministries of many nations for further study and comments.

I have yet to witness the document which allegedly refers to an offer by extraterrestrials to help prepare humanity for the disclosure of extraterrestrial life. The meeting also apparently discussed how the UN was being encouraged to take a proactive stand on the release of secret technologies that will enable the development of free energy. The date 2013 was given as the time when extraterrestrials would unambiguously appear. This was consistent with the date given in my earlier article. I will share more information on the alleged document circulated at the UN meeting and the independent source confirming the meeting in my next communication on this unfolding UN initiative on UFOs/extraterrestrial life.

What follows next is a report of a further meeting between Clay and Shawn Pickering and their confidential source regarding the UN meeting on UFOs held on the morning of February 12, 2008. They pointed out that the “unambiguous showing up” of extraterrestrial life – sitting over major cities - would occur in 2017, rather than 2013 as described in the earlier article. The role of religion and population growth was also allegedly discussed, and appeared to raise many issues at the meeting, especially for India .

A significant descriptive term chosen by Clay's and Shawn's source for the extraterrestrials that would show up in 2017 was “The Controllers.” Such a term has clear psychological connotations and was chosen to have a particular effect on the target audience – both UN member states in attendance and the general public to which the information was being leaked. This is a clue that Clay's/Shawn's source is conveying information that has been designed to trigger a certain psychological reaction that influences how issues are framed and discussed.

Another aspect of the following report is that it was claimed that India would have a difficult time processing disclosure of extraterrestrial life, possibly leading to the elimination of Hinduism. This appears inconsistent with India 's long tradition of advanced technologies and extraterrestrial life in its Vedic texts, and multiplicity of gods. If, as the confidential source claims, that Roman Catholics will have an easier time with disclosure due to the belief of “three Gods in one”, so too might a religion like Hinduism which has a multiplicity of gods and is very eclectic.

I believe that the mention of India as a country that might experience disclosure problems is likely a fabrication intended to confuse disclosure related issues. When combined with the use of the descriptive term for extraterrestrials, “The Controllers” designed to trigger a particular psychological reaction and lead discussions in a certain direction, the possibility that the information is being relayed through an intelligence agency with considerable expertise in manipulating human psychology cannot be discounted. In the earlier message (February 13), Clay's and Shawn's confidential source referred to an Admiral who was the ultimate authority for disclosure of the UN meeting to UFO/exopolitical community. Is this evidence that the Office of Naval Investigations is involved in the UFO disclosure initiative at the UN, or at least filtering information to be released to the UN/general public?

Most interesting for me was contrasting the agenda of the meeting revealed by Clay's and Shawn's confidential source, and what I had been told by my independent source. My independent source focused on issues concerning the release of restricted technologies for new energy sources and a document for feedback, while Clay's and Shawn's confidential source focused on population growth and religion. Curiously, Clay's and Shawn's source did not mention any document being circulated to UN member states for feedback.

In conclusion, I am now satisfied that a meeting took place at the UN headquarters in New York of February 12 to discuss the issue of UFOs and extraterrestrial. What transpired at the meeting itself appears to differ according to the confidential source Clay and Shawn have cited, and the independent source used to confirm the meeting. The emergence of the alleged document circulated at the meeting and relayed to key ministries of other nations will help considerably in clarifying what was discussed. The possible role of the Office of Naval Intelligence in filtering information that is being related through Clay's and Shawn's confidential source is something that cannot be discounted when considering what was specifically discussed at the UN meeting. I look forward to reviewing any documents circulated at the meeting to get a better idea of the agenda issues discussed involving the role the UN would play in public disclosure of extraterrestrial life.

Subject: Follow up of source's UFO meeting at the UN

Dear Michael,

This email is a follow up of the UN meeting which took place Tuesday 12, 2008 at 8;00AM. We met our source 7:00PM, Monday, February 18, 2008. Our source stated the following:

1) The meeting went well; however, our source left with a degree of frustration.

2) The meeting covered various topics. The issue of recent UFO sightings was one of many topics discussed.

3) Security around the meeting was intense.

4) Everyone was searched. Pens, pins, key chain items were collected and not allowed in the meeting room. There were multiple security checkpoints. UN security cards were confiscated upon entering the room.

5) 50 to 60 people attended. Everyone was in civilian dress, except one Russian.

6) Other countries may have had military there, but they came under their respective civilian titles.

7) UFO topic was addressed. The Russians are very paranoid about the west. Putin is not very trusting. This frustrated our source greatly. Our source believes the Russians will eventually come around; "They always come back to the table." This mistrust appears to be an ongoing issue between East & West.

8) The religious implications of contact came up during the meeting. It turned into a 20 minute debate. Our source had to reel it in and refocus the meeting. It seems that the Indians are very difficult to deal with on this issue of the religious implications regarding contact. Population is a major factor in how nation-states deal with a new paradigm. The Indian's world view has led to an unsustainable food, energy and water demand. Source stated that the world must gets its population and resource use under control. ET will help, but we must show them that we intend to live within our constraints. If we don't show some semblance of intent, they simply will not help.

9) Source said the 2013 date of official contact is wrong. That is the date when things heat up. The real date of contact is 2017. It is on this date when very large craft will appear above cities and sit. There will be NO use of force; they will just sit there. Source stated the "Independence Day" film was close, but their ships are not that big and, again, no use of force will occur. Our source cannot reveal his source for the 2017 date. His source is very high up in the government/military/intelligence structure.

10) Source stated that it is our choice how we embrace this contact.

11) The ET's who will arrive on 2017 are referred to as "The Controllers." They are a "galactic federation" type group; however, "galactic federation" is not the real name for their group--it is hypothetical name used as a reference.

12) The controllers have a keen sense of freedom and free will. They will not intervene and help humanity if humanity does not show them we want their help. If some entropic event happens (nuclear war), the controllers will not make contact. "This is something they will not tolerate," our source stated.

13) The controllers will not give us technology to expand our ability to feed ourselves if we do not recognize the necessity to stabilize our population growth. They don't want our planet's population to double because of a technological innovation seeded by them. Our source used India as an example, " India has over 1 billion people. It is clearly a country out of balance in terms of its population size."

14) A contentious moment in the meeting had to do with the religious implications of contact. It is this issue which is of most concern. Our source stated that the more secular societies will adjust more easily to contact than the fundamentalist. He stated," The Roman Catholic countries will not have a rough time, except for the population problem; the Roman Catholics already have three Gods in one, so accepting others is not that much of a stretch. The dividing point is going to be the containment of population. The Protestant countries will deal fairly easily with contact. So will countries with indigenous religions connected to nature. The Muslim, Hindu, and fundamentalist Christian religions will have the most difficult time, possibly even the elimination of said religions; we can expect mass suicides, social unrest and upheaval. The ETs will help with re-programming and the concept of an inclusive galactic order. However, society will have to step up to the plate to assist - one on one - those people who have shattered belief systems The Chinese will have no problem because of the Buddhist and Taoist influences."

The Sun - Thames UFO & London Eye UFO Identified? (Feb 2008)

Back on the 29th December 2007 when the Sun published an image of a UFO which I believed (and still do) to be a seagull I mentioned that I believe any photograph that shows an object that wasn't visible at the time the photograph was taken should be subjected to a more (dare I say it) skeptical analysis for obvious reasons than an intentionally photographed UFO. At this point it's probably prudent to mention that I also feel that any photographs captured through a window of any kind should also be approached with added caution.

The Sun UK UFO - IFO Seagull
Original post here

The Sun recently ran another, “Exclusive” story (28th February 2008) of what is again (in my opinion) obviously not a UFO, and yet again the object wasn't visible at the time of capture.

The Sun also likes to quote, “UFO experts” that further advance their suppositions that the photographs they print actually depict an intelligently controlled alien spacecraft. Their latest offering stated that:

UFO experts have been left scratching their heads over the sighting..... Editor, cameraman and UFO researcher Chris Martin said: "I was looking for evidence that these have been fabricated…..I couldn't find any evidence. It's unprecedented because she produced three pictures, which seems to show it's flying…..My own evaluation is that these photographs are genuine and have not been digitally manipulated or hoaxed…..These photos are, in my opinion as a UFO researcher, absolutely astounding and show a real object seemingly under intelligent control.”

Flying Saucer - UK UFOI partly agree in that they haven't been, “Digitally manipulated or hoaxed” indeed it's very likely that the photographer was as puzzled by the anomaly as the head-scratching UFO expert was. I do however differ from the opinion that it's a real (as in physically in the sky) object and as for how any control can be ascertained from two still images, let alone control of an intelligent nature.....

I strongly suspect (and hope) that this is, “The Sun” up to their usual embellishments or quoting out of context, last time it was Nick Pope, perhaps Nick was consulted and chose not to comment this time. Or perhaps The Sun contacted several UFO researchers until one had something to say that they wanted to hear?

Anyway…..

Here's the article and images:

UFO snapped over Thames

A STUDENT was left shocked when she checked her tourist snaps of the London skyline - and spotted what looks like a flying saucer. University Of Exeter academic Karolina-Slavka Mueller was in London for the weekend, when she took some shots with her camera phone of the sights. But when she looked back at the January 19 night time pictures of Tower Bridge and the London Eye, she was shocked to see an apparent UFO.

And experts claim it is the real thing. Karolina said in an email: "What's very strange about this is the fact that we didn't actually see this object in the sky while I was taking the photos.

London Eye UFO

"I only discovered it once I loaded the photos onto my computer as I didn't even look at the photos until then." The images - taken around 3.50am - were taken eight minutes apart as Karolina and two pals drove through Central London . The apparent UFO is at an angle and appears to emit a mysterious blue light.

Karolina added: "None of us can come up with a reasonable answer to what this might have been…..One of my friends, the driver, has grown up in London and he can't find a reasonable answer…..He says he's never seen anything like it and that there definitely isn't any building in this area that could look like this."

UFO experts have been left scratching their heads over the sighting.

“This is a classic flying saucer-shaped UFO."

A Ministry of Defence spokesperson did not comment on the sighting, saying: "The MoD examines reports solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised military activity. "Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, there is no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting reported."

Source: The Sun (UK)

The first thing is the position of the object in both images, the positioning of the object and its degree of tilt is identical (and the images were captured 8 minutes apart).

The Sun - London UFO

Identical parts of the outer ring are reflecting the same glare in exactly the same section.

London Eye UFO - Thames UFO

If you look closely there appears to be small barcode-like green lines, at the top right of the circle that follows the circumference, the markings of a rev-counter/speedometer/fuel gauge? And the yellow dot in the middle of the object is either the base of or holder for the pointer?

Thames UFO
(The images shown are for general comparison purposes
and are not intended to represent the actual dashboard dial)

Also the photographer changes the angle at which the two photographs are taken, the photograph of the London Eye she is definitely shooting to her right and the image of the Thames Bridge she is shooting straight ahead.

London Eye UFO - Thames UFO

Now notice how the object moves relative to the shift in angles, it's exactly how a reflection of the (drivers side) dashboard instruments would move, i.e. the shot taken with the camera pointing straight ahead then the reflection is over to the far right and when pointing to the right then the reflection in turn appears centred in the image

I'm sure that if the make of car could be determined then there will most certainly be a dial on the dashboard that (when car headlights are turned on) would correlate exactly with the position, shape and colours that are displayed in these images.

Roswell UFO Researcher Dennis Balthaser On "NBC Today"

UFO Researcher - Dennis Balthaser
Still Truth-seeking At Roswell

UFO Researcher - Dennis Balthaser – Still Truth-seeking At RoswellThe, “NBC Today” show recently aired a segment on Dennis Balthaser, the weekend show host Lester Holt specifically requested the interview after studying Dennis' website (http://www.truthseekeratroswell.com/). The interview was to discuss the main areas of Dennis' research, namely the Roswell incident and Area 51, Holt also requested that the interview be conducted front of Building 84 at the Roswell Industrial Air Centre (which was hangar 84 at the Roswell Army Air Field in 1947).

But before you watch the segment (and in case you are unaware of the dedication of Dennis Balthaser) allow me to offer a little background, Dennis G. Balthaser retired from the Texas Department of Transportation in 1996 after 33 years in Civil Engineering work, before this hewas in the United States Army in an Engineering Battalion. In 1996 he moved to Roswell , NM in 1996, to further pursue his 25 year interest in Ufology and particularly the infamous Roswell Incident with more than a passing interest in underground Bases and Area 51.

And from his Roswell research website:

“Dennis Balthaser is an independent researcher, journalist and lecturer living in Roswell, New Mexico. Dennis' focus is the Roswell Incident of 1947, however, his research extends to investigations of Area 51, underground bases and ancient Egypt . Dennis is a Certified Mutual UFO Network Field Investigator and belongs to the Great Pyramid of Giza Research Association and several ufological organizations. He writes editorials for several well known web sites and magazines.”

He also states at the top of his, "TruthSeekerAtRoswell" website that,

"Always Telling the Truth, Means Never Having To Remember Anything"

Admirable sentiments indeed and these are echoed throughout his research with his no-nonsense approach. Dennis is not only held in high regard by his readers but more tellingly also by his peers, so rather than list his achievements and published works I'll leave you with a couple of their quotes…..

"Dennis is the researcher in Roswell all the other researchers go to for the answers."

Stanton Friedman

"Dennis has a special quality about his research which reflects not only an extraordinary mind for detail but a stone-cold sense of honesty and responsibility that more researchers would do well to take note of.”

Jeff Rense

“I have interveiwed hundreds of people in the UFO field and no one knows more or presents their material better than Dennis Balthaser!"

Jerry Pippin (Host of the UFO Files)

"I met Dennis last year in Roswell and I've got to admit, he's the best researcher in town. I would highly recommend Dennis's work to anyone interested in the UFO Phenomena"

Stephenville , Texas - UFO Reporter Angelia Joiner Hired As News Director

A couple of days ago Angelia Joiner announced that as well as working as a reporter for the official, “Stephenville Lights” website she has also recently been hired as news director for radio station KCUB/107.9 FM, who claims on its website that:

"Mandatory FM is your official Stephenville UFO information station!"

The website's main page currently states that:

“Also, we welcome to the Mandatory FM family, Angelia Joiner, who will be heading up our news department and keeping us in touch with any UFO sightings in the area!

If you would like to get in touch with Angelia, e-mail her at: mailto:ajoiner@mandatoryfm.com: Also, check out Stephenville Lights for the latest UFO sightings in and around the Stephenville area!”

It may seem initially that Mandatory Fm is jumping on the UFO bandwagon but a quick glance at the website shows that it also boasts interviews with James Fox (director of, “Out Of The Blue”) and Steve Hudgeons (Assistant State Director of MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network) so at least they are showing willing and Mandatory FM seem sincere enough in their intentions. They've essentially provided another place Angelia Joiner can be contacted as well as helping to keep her at the forefront of the Stephenville UFO Reports and by doing so are providing an invaluable service not only to the Stephenville community, but also to everyone who considers themselves responsible enough to personally decide what News stories they want to hear about.

Strangely the previous employers of Ms Joiner are STILL running articles on the UFO sightings. This is strange of course as these employers (of the small Australian owned local Stephenville newspaper) decided to axe Angelia Joiner and confiscate her computer as she'd apparently caused them, “ Embarrassment ” by reporting on the Stephenville UFOs. Apparently not nearly enough embarrassment as they've decided to invite more by the fact that they are still covering the incident themselves, so to add to the, “ Embarrassment ” they now have, insincerity, duplicity, double standards, hypocrisy, etc. or perhaps its just that Angelia Joiners articles asked the right questions of the right people?

Source Leaks Official Disclosure By, "UFO Working Group"

Source at U.N. tells of secret UFO meeting
(February 12, 2008
)

Michael E. Salla, Ph.D

I received the following email from two trusted colleagues (Clay and Shawn Pickering) regarding a reliable source informing them that a secret meeting occurred yesterday morning (Feb 12) at the New York office of the United Nations concerning the recent spate of UFO sightings. It appears that a number of nation states are concerned about the impact of increased UFO sightings and wish to be briefed about what is happening. Their source, who currently works in the diplomatic corps, had to travel for an early morning off the record meeting at the UN. Their source revealed that a secret UFO working group exists that is authorizing the release of such information to the public, in an effort to acclimate others to what is about to unfold. A date of 2013 was given as the time for official disclosure and/or when extraterrestrials show up in an unambiguous way. In the interim there will be acclimation related releases of information. Importantly, the source revealed that the events leading up to official disclosure will involve more ethically oriented extraterrestrials, and they will not pose a military threat to the world.

The information below may be related to the recent debate in the Japanese parliament and statements by the Defense Minister over how Japan would respond to extraterrestrials appearing over Japanese airspace that display peaceful intent. It appears nation states are moving forward in developing public policy on how to respond to extraterrestrials showing up. So if the information below is accurate, then it is likely that we will see more examples of governments making official statements concerning how they would respond to extraterrestrials that show up over their airspace. It is likely that parliamentarians around the world will start receiving briefings to help them develop public policy concerning extraterrestrial life. Such briefings will probably extend to prominent media sources who will give more coverage to UFO sightings in popular media outlets such as Larry King Live. Increased media reports will first likely lead to disclosures of secret antigravity technologies that have been withheld for over 50 years, as a prelude to official disclosure of extraterrestrial life. The source's reference to suicides is probably related to those who will learn that much of what they have learned and believed over a lifetime was a lie. The 1961 Brookings Report referred to scientists as being most vulnerable to the disclosure of extraterrestrial life since it will make redundant many of the cherished scientific theories and models held by this community.

Overall, it appears that a countdown is underway to official disclosure around 2013, and that nation states and the UN are being briefed. The acclimation process will accelerate over the next five years as UFO sightings increase around the globe forcing governments to make public policy statements on UFOs and extraterrestrial life.

Subject: Source at U.N. tells of secret UFO meeting February 12, 2008

Dear Mike,

Shawn and I met with our source who currently works ... [in the Diplomatic Corps]. We had discussed various topics when the Stephenville and O'Hare UFO's cases were brought up. Shawn, actually, brought up the cases--"what's the deal with these incidents? Why is Stephenville getting so much press? "...etc...etc. Our source did not answer the questions immediately and other topics were discussed. About 5 minutes later, our source said to us, "Notice I did not answer your UFO questions." Shawn stated to him that we felt he wasn't interested in answering. Our source stated, "not at all." He took a breath and responded, "Unfortunately I can't go into it, but getting up tomorrow (February 12) at 6 AM to attend a briefing at the UN at 8AM is highly unusual. I (Clay) asked, "Does the briefing tomorrow have anything to do with these UFO incidents?" Our source said he could neither confirm nor deny, hint, hint. He stated that an 8AM briefing simply did not happen, unless these was a pressing need. Shawn and I probed him as best we could without forcing him to compromise his security issues. Our source stated:

--------------------

  1. UN is an international organization. Clay stated, "Therefore the briefing has do with other nation-states in context to sightings?" Our source affirmed.
  2. Shawn stated, "Then there have been other incidents around the world, like Stephenville case?"

At that point, our source got up and made a phone call and returned within 2 minutes. Our source stated, "Out of professional courtesy, I made a phone call to my source and stated mission accomplished.”

He stated to Shawn and I:

  1. There is a group he is affiliated with whose task is to release information to certain sectors of society--i.e., your community (UFO).
  2. The briefing had to do with calming the nerves of certain nation-states regarding sightings.
  3. The Russians seem really anxious.
  4. The Bush boys (Neo-cons) are anxious about being left out of the loop, when Bush steps down.
  5. Although incidents are occurring around the world, these are NOT "Independence Day" types. In fact, our source stated that the ships are not as big as the ones portrayed in the film.
  6. When contact is made (officially to the world) there will be no ambiguity.
  7. You'll know things are heating up when suicides dramatically increase. A date of 2013 was given. Shawn stated, "Perhaps a meltdown factor." Source nodded yes.
  8. Our source was to dress in civilian clothing to put the Russians at ease. They hate military dress.
  9. The civilian dress was to facilitate deniability so as not to implicate the military.

--------------------

At this point, our source apologized for using us to get this information out. He was doing so at the behest of his superior, an admiral. The admiral stated, "What about these conspiracy guys": Using Shawn and I as a conduit. Our source feels that globalization is an effort to reduced the 200 plus nation-states down to a single entity; at which point, a one world representative body can present itself to a "galactic federation" type council. ...

Our source said, "Get this out there and let me know what your peers feel about this.”

Portsmouth UK – Saucer Shaped UFO Photographed?

Portsmouth UK – Saucer Shaped UFO

This is a bit of a strange one, generally I would say that any UFO that wasn't observed at the time of capture MUST be subject to greater scrutiny than if the object was intentionally photographed. The reasons for this are as I'm sure most know is due to the increasing amount of Blurfos being touted as UFOs. These Blurfos nearly always turn out to be of earthly origins and are usually insects or birds caught mid-flight, and any attempts at proving this to the person who captured the image are inevitably never well received.

That's why this one is a little different, although I admit to being highly sceptical of the image actually showing what it appears to (i.e. a UFO) it certainly seems to be what you could term a, “Classic” saucer shape.

Apparently the witness took the photograph, “ Near his home in Portsmouth while driving home from work in thick fog .” The photograph appears to be of an empty car-park and apart from the UFO at the top then the image itself is wholly unremarkable, which begs the question what was the witness intending to photograph?

I'm not saying this in itself is evidence of anything and I'd be the first to admit this, but until a better image or further information is forthcoming I'm afraid any contesting of what the image actually portrays would prove to be a pointless endeavour…..

Portsmouth UK – Saucer Shaped UFO

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

The image that's caught our attention It may look like just another car park on a foggy night, but an amateur photographer claims it also shows a UFO. A disc-shaped object appears to be hovering in the night sky near the top right of the picture, according to Hab Rahman, who captured the image. The 28-year-old took the photograph near his home in Portsmouth while driving home from work in thick fog. But he only spotted he mysterious apparition after transferring the image on to his computer. Mr Rahman said:

“I've never really believed in UFOs but this is a bit weird and freaky – I just cannot think what else it could be.”

UFO expert Hilary Porter, of the British Earth and Aerial Mysteries Society, last night confirmed it could be genuine. Can you see it? That little hovery thing in the sky - what more evidence do you need? She said: “ It would be very difficult to fake that photo and the UFO is at a tilt, which is the way they normally fly.” The Ministry of Defence said it could not check if there were any aircraft in the vicinity at the time.

Isle Of Wight UFO Reports – January & February 2008

More UFOs reported over the Isle of Wight

A number of inhabitants on the Isle of Wight have reported sightings of a brightly lit yellow(ish) craft which hovered low in the night sky, witnesses of the UFO have been able to watch the object for some time, and although it seemed to be close by it makes no noise and then disappears in a split second.

Back on January 28th (2008) the Isle of Wight County Press first ran a story after former RAF Engine Technician Frank Webb (who spent 22 years in the RAF and so surely meets the criteria of a credible witness) reported his UFO sighting, the sighting occurred approximately 8.20pm on Sunday 27th January 2008 over Newport.

UFO - Newport, Isle of Wight
Newport, Isle of Wight

Islanders saw "bright lights"

Mr Frank Webb, 69, of Terrace Road , watched as the brightly-lit craft moved from west to east across the clear night sky at around 8.20pm on Sunday 27 th January 2008 while walking along Terrace Road , Newport . Frank originally thought it was a low flying aircraft but quickly noticed that the object had no navigational lights and was eerily silent.

Frank Webb said that:

“I would call it a UFO, but only because it was, to me, unidentified…..I was in the RAF for 22 years as an engine technician, so I thought if I could hear it I could work out what it was. But there was no sound whatsoever. It was weird…..I saw these very bright lights in the sky coming towards us, it was going from west to east…..The lights were unusually bright - and as it got closer I realised that there was no navigation lights, so we stood there and watched; there was no engine noise whatsoever although it wasn't losing height, so it had got its power from somewhere."

Mr Webb said the craft, around the size of a medium-size aeroplane, was flying at between 400-500ft altitude and covered in yellow lights. As Mr Webb was unsure of what he was looking at and just in case it was an aircraft in trouble, he contacted both the police and Southampton Airport , Mr Webb's wife Valerie also witnessed the UFO:

“Valerie was with me at the time and all she can say about it is that it is weird. She came with me around the world because of my RAF career, so she knows a fair bit…..I just wonder if anyone else saw it.”

Since the original article ran (which was titled, “DID YOU SEE THIS UFO? ”) several other Islanders have called or e-mailed the County Press with similar tales, some dating back to August 2007. The follow up article which was published on Wednesday, 6th February (2008) stated that they had received many UFO reports, some of which occurred on the same night with multiple witnesses.

Frank Webb and his wife were not alone when they spotted the UFO on Sunday 27 th January, there were many others including Richard McFarlane, 27, Barry Holland, 49 and Paul Westmore, 35, who were cleaning at Calbourne Classics, an ice-cream company near Shalfleet, Barry Holland said:

"We saw a yellow coloured light in the sky above the trees and I though that's a satellite, but it looked a bit low, we just stood there for two or three minutes wondering what it was…..I saw it move slightly and thought perhaps it's a helicopter, but it had no navigation lights at all and no engine noise…..It was yellow with like an aura around it and it was just static in the sky apart from when I saw it undulate for about five seconds…..I'm not saying it was little green men from Mars, but what I am saying is it was an object in the sky that I couldn't identify.”

Richard McFarlane added, “ It was a yellow ball in the sky. It had a haze around it and it wasn't moving at all. We watched it for ages.
