Small Minded ‘Guardian.co.uk' Abduction Article

It has been quite a while since I read a mainstream media article when the reporter's opinion alone truly sickened me but the sweeping generalisation that Mr Mark Lawson makes is one that is evidently imbued with his twisted personal perceptions as he suggests that the abduction phenomenon is no more than the externalisation of repressed memories of child abuse.

The final rationale is that spaceship-spotting is an outward expression of inner fears. For instance, many of those who claim to have been abducted by aliens report the experience of being anally or genitally probed. You don't need to rent rooms in Vienna to guess that a memory of extraterrestrial interference may have replaced that of a human encounter, although it may well have involved being carried out of their bedroom in the middle of the night…..In Britain now, the likeliest cause of these reports is fear of a different kind of penetration ….”

Ministry Of Defence Starts UK UFO Archive Release (14th May 2008)

The National Archives (TNA) had a release scheduled for the 14th May, apparently there was an embargoed press announcement which was circulated from Monday. There was also an earlier pre-emptive warning circulated to the national press last week which was also embargoed.

The National Archives virtual press event - UFOs

The National ArchivesFor first time, The National Archives is making 8 Ministry of Defence (MoD) files relating to (Unidentified Flying Objects) UFOs available on Monday 12 May 2008.

The files will be available to download at no charge for the first month, online at the TNA website.

These are the first files to be released by the MoD as part of a 4-year transfer project relating to UFOs. The files are under embargo until the 00.01am 14 May 2008.

Visitors to the site will, in addition to downloading the files, be able to listen to a Podcast from Dr David Clarke, senior lecturer, Hallam University , discussing the files and the release. He has also written a background briefing on UFO files held at The National Archives.

There is also a short videocast from Nick Pope, a British UFO specialist presents a short videocast providing additional explanations. The files cover 1978 to 1987 and contain details on recorded incidents from the Ministry of Defence during this time.

Some of the highlights include:

DEFE 24/1925 - this file contains a long letter and drawings from a member of the public describing his 'physical and psychic contact' with green aliens since he was a child. One of them called Algar was killed in 1984 by another race of beings. The writer says that he visited their bases in the Wirral and Cheshire , whilst his wife reported seeing a UFO shot down over Wallasey Town.

DEFE 31/172 - On 21 February 1982, a group of customers and staff in Tunbridge Wells report an unknown object with green and red flashing lights - seen heading in the direction of Gatwick. (p.22)

DEFE 31/172 - A detailed briefing prepared by the Ministry of Defence for Lord Strabolgi, Government Chief Whip, for debate on UFO's in the House of Lords in January 1979. Paddy Stevens who briefed the Government spokesperson, said, "there is nothing to indicate that UFOlogy is anything but claptrap..." (Page 126-135)

Plus many more.

Indeed, far from this being a surprise it has been a long promised and much anticipated event, regular (and attentive!!) readers may remember that I posted about the MOD release back on the 24th December (2007), writing:

(UK) UFO Researchers Secure Release Of MoD UFO Documentation. “Following sustained pressure by a small number of UFO researchers during the last 8 years, the British Ministry of Defence have decided to release all of their UFO files. As well as making requests ourselves, we actively encouraged and assisted other ufologists to make their own requests.”

Click here to read the full post.

So when you read further articles or postings regarding this imminent disclosure, or when the release of these documents is finally realised, I urge you not to forget the efforts of Dave Clarke et al. Whose efforts are directly responsible for this landmark event, the results of their collective efforts should stand as irrefutable testimony to the enormity of what can be achieved with perseverance, dedication and determination.

In fact, why not visit their website at UK-UFO.org and thank them right now?

But I certainly wouldn't get too excited about the release and I feel it important to stress that there will be NO SMOKING GUN found, or even implications of such but that's not why this is such an interesting release. I personally believe it's such an interesting release so that the general public may finally have some inkling into the inner-workings of the MOD as it relates to UFO reports and I also believe the ineptitude and 'couldn't care less' attitude will prove to be more shocking than yet another ‘aliens stole my dog' report (which the media take a little too much delight in reporting on).

That's not to say there aren't any interesting cases included of course.....

Like the account from air traffic controllers, each with over eight years in the job, they reported that at 4 p.m. on April 19, 1984 a UFO landed at the airport they were working at then took off at an incredible speed.

The men, each with more than eight years on the job, described how they were helping guide a small plane to a landing on runway 22 when they were distracted by a brightly lit object approaching a different runway without clearance.

“Everyone became aware that the object was unidentified…..SATCO (code name for a controller with 14 years experience) reports that the object came in at speed, made a touch and go on runway 27, then departed at terrific speed in a near vertical climb.”

But of course this is merely one of the hundreds of *credible* reports that poses no kind of threat or no *defence significance* or so we're told. Still I don't doubt for a second that the conspiracy theorists will have a field day with what they think has been retained…..

Robbie Williams Talks UFO Sightings

Joss Stone has landed a job on her hometown radio station. Exeter 's Gemini FM has given Joss a regular show called, “Peace Love And Music.” For this programme she has recorded several interviews with people who Joss admires, one of whom is Robbie Williams and is due to be aired in the next few weeks, here's an early release of some of Robbie's dialogue as he fervently discusses the UFO phenomenon.

"Seriously, I want to go out and investigate these things. I'm stopping being a pop star and being a full-time ufologist……We could be like Mulder and Scully in real life…..You're always mega-busy, but I've got nothing on at the minute."

"I was at the Beverly Hills Hotel and I was lying on my sun lounger outside at night, looking up…..Then, about 300 foot above me, there was this square thing which just passed over my head silently and then shot off…..The next one was the weirdest one yet. I'd just written a song called Arizona , and it's all about alien contact and I was playing that…..I stood on the balcony and there was this big ball of gold light that turned up - we thought it was Venus or Mars or something. Then the song stops playing and it disappears. But then we put Arizona on again and the ball turned back up. It happened four times…..After that a massive electrical storm started and these two big massive balls of light started dancing in the sky. It was like a whole light show for about an hour."

Okay, I'll level with you, I don't really care what these, "Celebrities" think or believe about UFOs, but I know people out there who do (care) and as I try to focus on the UK side of the UFO phenomenon I thought I'd include this UK celebrity UFO report.....

UK Contactee And Alien Dreamland In Hartlepool

A little surprising to see a UK, “Contactee” talking so candidly in the local press and even more surprising that they seem to have printed her entire account apparently unaltered. At this juncture it's probably best to mention that the contactee is working on a book which may explain her desire to release this information at this particular point in time.

The book will be called, “Alien Dreamland” and personally I feel she probably hasn't done herself any favours with the article as it seems to concentrate on the more bizarre aspects of her subsequent alien visitation/s and is even titled, “Alien doctors treated my cystisis.” However upon reading the story it transpires that she was abducted while suffering from cystitis rather than it being the reason…..

Dianne Sudron who is a call centre worker from Hartlepool claims that she has been visited by extra-terrestrials for the past thirty years, Dianne Sudron's initiation into friendship with extra-terrestrials began when she was just 13. In 1974, she had been babysitting her brother and younger sisters at her home in Elphin Walk, Hartlepool, when she saw a UFO above the houses between her street and Brierton Community School . Dianne said she was with her friend and a boy, and the three of them followed it as it headed towards Owton Manor Primary School :

"It was like a big headlamp but not as big as a football and hovering above the rooftops…..I wasn't scared….. The UFO was there for about 10 minutes. I was fascinated. I always sort of believed in them and knew something was out there. When I saw one, it confirmed it. "

The next time she saw the 'visitors' she was babysitting again.

"They came in through the French windows. There was about six of them and they had creamy-coloured bald heads with pointy chins and eyes like almonds, like you see in films…..I remember it vividly. We had ornaments on a shelf next to the window and part of the wall became a control panel and an alien, that seemed to me to be female, would press buttons on the wall. There were flashing lights and it just seemed to be part of the UFO….I used to say to them, 'how long are you going to be, I don't want you here when my mam and dad come in'…..My mind is blank. I don't know whether they took me somewhere or whether they did something to my body…..They used to come in through the French window at the back of the room and float out through the front window. I wondered if our house was in the way, in the middle of the alien highway or something. "

“We used to speak in telepathy and they would immobilise me.
I used to just sit there.”

Dianne later joined a spiritual and psychic development group, saying:

"We would get psychic messages from extra-terrestrials and they would channel themselves through someone's body. They would say they were sending 'love, healing and light to all mankind…..These aliens were humanoid and very beautiful with blonde hair and a space between their eyes. They had crystals for eyebrows. They were from the Pleiades constellation…..For about six months we used to speak to them. It was debatable whether we believed they existed, we just went with the flow…..I thought 'I'd really like to meet them extra-terrestrials, it's not good enough to just have it channelled….."But when I told the group I wanted to meet them, they didn't want to know. They were frightened and I left."

When Dianne was 26, she lived in Stockton Road , where her first actual contact with the beings took place.

“I'd had a bad relationship and thought why not ask them for help and love. I was sitting on the sofa and I heard a voice say 'Are you feeling OK?' I didn't know what to do. It was a lovely softly-spoken voice. It was a nice English accent…..The voice asked me 'do you want us to play you some music?' I said yes. I started hearing 1940s music. It made me laugh. I thought it was so funny; either they've got a sense of humour or they don't know what music I like."

Dianne moved to Wolverhampton to be with her fiancé but her fascination with the paranormal proved too difficult for their relationship.

“We got engaged, but the aliens came between me and my fiancé. First of all he didn't believe in it, because I was saying all these things…..I was lodging with him when I heard a loud bang. The aliens had bumped themselves down and fallen on top of each other. They were laughing and giggling about it. It was so strange to see aliens on the floor thinking it was funny.''

She said her fiancé acknowledged the next day – for the first time – that she was being visited by aliens. ''He said he heard the bang and 'I think I believe you'. He called them the three amigos .''

"An alien pulled up in a silver car. It was quite early in the morning. I seemed to see in my mind, this alien pulling up in an expensive Honda car. I could see it in my mind, parked up outside the house…..I thought I better compose myself. I am going to be frightened. I tried to trace them in my mind coming in the door and coming up the stairs…..But in a matter of two seconds it came to the bottom of my bed. They looked like doctors. One had a clipboard. I had been suffering from cystitis at the time, but I know they gave me an operation on my forehead. They cut through a piece. I was aware of it and sort of conscious…..It seemed to hurt but as soon as they had gone, it went. I don't know whether they were trying to make me more psychic. If you have an operation on your third eye you become more psychic…..Sometimes they put implants in people and put them up their noses to track people, not for any bad reasons, just to know what people are doing…..I think they were investigating me anyway. I think they are investigating a lot of humans on the planet to see how their minds work and to change the way the world works.”

"I think they do it to lots of people, they're just not lucky enough to remember. "

When Dianne was 33, she came back to Hartlepool , and her inter-galactic friends made another appearance.

"I was laid on the settee and fell asleep then I heard a sound at the door. It just sounded like when you stand on a cat's tail. It was quite a scary experience…..I felt either a rope or a fishing line come around me. It didn't hurt. It was like a lasso. It was wet and it touched me on the face as if I'd been hit with a wet fish. I was going up towards the light…..I didn't want to go any further and gently came back down…..They have visited me about 30 times. It's fairly regular. At one point it seemed to be happening all the time. Each experience is totally different…..They used to put a ray over my body to immobilise me. I think it was to try to calm you down. They didn't do anything sinister to me….I don't tell people. They are quite frightened of it. I don't need to tell people. I don't think they believe me…..That's why I'm telling my story to the Mail, to give credibility. I want to get it into concrete evidence if you don't come out and say people think, maybe…..People may say I'm barmy but at the moment we've got a hole in the ozone layer. We are living in times that are delicately balanced. I don't know what we are going to do ."

Dianne, who is a follower of Guru Sai Baba, added:

"Aliens have given me so much of themselves, so much love and understanding…… I hope I'll see them soon. I enjoy the experience. They are not going to harm you."

Regarding her book Dianne rather ominously adds, “ I've got bits of information but I've been holding back to see if I can find a hypnotherapist to help me regress. I'd like to find one that's interested in UFOs ."

Houghton Regis & Luton UK UFO Reports (March 2008)

Mysterious goings-on in Luton skies leave onlookers baffled

It was recently reported by, "Bedford Today" that,:
“Mysterious goings-on in the skies above Luton and Houghton Regis have been baffling onlookers over the past week.”

As reported by, “Bedford Today.”
As reported by, “Bedford Today.”

Last Wednesday (Wednesday 5th March, 2008) there were two separate UFO sightings reported, and Bedford Today says that the witnesses are now desperately hoping someone can shed light on what they saw.

Luton Ufo

First a mysterious red light was spotted hovering over the Luton & Dunstable Hospital at around 9pm, and then later on another light was seen in the skies above Houghton Regis.

Luton Ufo Report

Eyewitness Dave Fullbrook, 64, was in Wentworth Avenue when he spotted a mysterious red light hovering above the hospital, talking about his sighting he says:

"I've never seen anything like it in my life…..What it was I've got no idea. I've looked over there for the last few nights but I haven't seen it since then…..If it comes down I'd like to be the first to meet them."

More Fenland (UK) UFO Sightings

If I'm being completely honest, I'm now more than a little sceptical of the Fenland Citizens UFO Reports. In 2007 they had three articles on UFOs, all of which were in January and were about the (explained) lights that were reported on Christmas Eve. I mentioned this in the first paragraph of the original post I made about the recent Fenland UFOs, you can view it here. This month (February 2008) has seen four UFO articles published in less than three weeks and really there's very little information about the original UFO sighting in the subsequent articles with the content focusing on being older sightings of its readers. In my opinion their latest article (20 th February 2008) is a little telling when they state that:

“Readers have been in sending in their experiences and
thousands have checked out articles on the Citizen website.”

But irrespective of this most recent statement I thought their intentions may not be entirely, “Honourable” when their third UFO article in three weeks appeared, but as I've covered the others I decided to add this latest one.

More UFO sightings in Fenland, UK
(
20 February 2008)

STORIES in the Citizen about strange lights and possible UFO sightings have prompted a flood of responses. Readers have been in sending in their experiences and thousands have checked out articles on the Citizen website. One of the latest readers to give details of his experience is Graham Chapman, of Walpole Highway , Mr Chapman said it was in his home village he saw the strange lights - the first time on Saturday, February 9:

"From the ground all you could see was a pulsating light. It was so high up that it looked no bigger than a star…..When I looked at the light with my binoculars, I could see a red and blue flashing light and a constant light which, even with the binoculars, still looked like a star…..The object in the sky from 5.30pm to 12am was in different positions. Each time I saw it but I never saw it move…..On Sunday, February 10, there were three objects all the same as the one the previous night…..They disappeared one-by-one over the course of the night…..The last sighting was on Wednesday but with the fog the last few days it has been impossible to see if they have been there since.”

Mr Chapman said the last reported UFO sightings were in 2001 over Wisbech St Mary, Christchurch , Chatteris and Queens Road in Wisbech.

"How many more sightings have there been that were not reported and is there a logical explanation? Who knows?"

Andy Cordery and his wife, of Wisbech, saw the same sight as Alison Hunt from our original story, on the same evening (January 30).

"I had just turned on to the 16 Foot Bank road when I noticed an orange light in the sky which seemed bright, with a slight haze about it. The light went from one light and appeared to split into three, but closer together…..It didn't gradually disappear. It just vanished."

Reg Wenn has spotted many strange lights in the skies around his Acre Fen, Chatteris, home for over 15 years. One sighting he has seen so many times he calls it 'Old Mate'.

It has alternating orange, green and red lights at the bottom and bright lights above, like a cluster of stars…..It just appears, as if someone had switched a big set of lights on, and we never see it fly away…..On odd occasions we do see really thin red streaks in the sky when it has gone."

Cylindrical UFO Sighting In Bubbenhall Stuns Local Couple

UFO sighting in Bubbenhall nearly wrecked our car, say couple.

STRANGE sightings of a spinning orange object shooting from the sky have been reported by a shocked Warwickshire couple. Terrified Cliff and Carol Sheldon say the flashing orange mass nearly smashed into their car in Bubbenhall on Monday night. They say it was cylindrical in shape, and about half the size of their Vauxhall Corsa. The down-to-earth couple from Stretton-on-Dunsmore say they have always been sceptical about UFOs. But the grandparents of-five are in no doubt about what they saw.

UFO sighting in Bubbenhall nearly wrecked our car, say couple

"It was moving very fast and we thought it was going to hit the car. It looked like it must have come down in the fields nearby. We reported it to the police although I don't suppose they believed us. But there is no way you could make something up like that. "

Their UFO sighting was at 9pm on Stoneleigh Road in Bubbenhall, though nearby Coventry Airport reported "nothing untoward" on the night in question.

But Dr Jack Cohen, a professor and scientist from Warwick University who researches UFOs, said: "It's more likely to be a meteorite than a flying saucer. My guess is there are two or three a day coming down in England , adding, " It's not unreasonable that one could have come down close to someone ."

A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said: " We do from time to time get people reporting this kind of thing to us, particularly if they want to check military aircraft movement .” Their claims have been backed by a Warwick University professor with an interest in UFOs. He said they may have seen a meteorite, also known as a shooting star.

Cliff, aged 63, who has recently retired from his garage business, Manhattan Motors in Earlsdon, Coventry , said: " I just saw a great big thing spinning round with lights on. Carol was panicking saying: 'That might explode - go, go, go. It was a clear night and I thought 'blinkin' 'eck, what's that?' It could have been something burning. There is no doubt that it was real, and we are genuine ."

Carol, aged 58, described a flat round structure 'like a giant dinner plate' that was flashing orange, saying: “ I put my fingers in my ear and thought it was going to explode. We were both terrified and shocked.

UK - Why is Sunderland a UFO hotspot? – Shields Gazette (Jan 10 2008)

Why is Sunderland a UFO hotspot?

RECENTLY there has been a flurry of UFO sightings over the Sunderland area.

To some, this may be disturbing. After all, no one likes to entertain the idea that our skies are being filled with alien invaders from a distant solar system. Personally, however, I quite like the notion that we are entertaining visitors from beyond.

Overall there has been a decline in flying saucer activity in the UK, and if our friends from the other side of the galaxy suddenly got bored with us and stopped coming, then we may never find out who (or what) they are, and why they found planet earth so fascinating in the first place.

One of the big problems with the concept that we are being visited by alien life forms is the distance they would have to travel to reach us. The nearest star to us is more than four light years away, and this means that even if aliens could travel at the speed of light, it would still take them over four years to get here.

Some researchers have postulated that there may be "worm holes" in space, which could acts as portals between one solar system and another. The idea is that you pop into one worm hole and hey, presto, before you know it, you pop out of another millions of light years away, without having to travel the distance in between.

Of course, this notion is still but a theory. Personally, I believe that UFOs probably have their origins much closer to home. It seems unlikely that they originate on another planet in our own solar system, as there are no signs of alien civilisations on Mars, Venus or the other worlds in our vicinity.

Another problem is that life as we know it would probably find it difficult to survive in the hostile conditions those planets present. Is it possible, though, that UFOs could have their origin right here on planet earth? This may not be as strange an idea as one might imagine. For years there have been rumours that there are subterranean worlds hidden under the north and south poles that could house civilisations whose existence we are unaware of.

If such civilisations do indeed exist, they could, theoretically speaking, be in possession of advanced technologies that enable them to build aircraft far beyond our own understanding, and using propulsion systems we can only dream of. Another reason for thinking that the "aliens" may be related to us is the biological similarities between UFO occupants and human beings.

Put aside their strange skin colour, large eyes and antennae, aliens are normally described as having a head, torso, two legs, two arms and facial features pretty much the same as our own. If aliens are similar to us, if not identical, then we can probably assume that they are related to us in the same way that horses and pigs, although not identical, are both mammals and occupy places reasonably close to each other on the evolutionary tree.

If you're ever lucky enough to see the occupant of a UFO, it's a fascinating thought that you may not be staring at an alien from outer space, but a long-lost cousin. Why haven't our ethereal visitors contacted us formally and announced their existence officially to the world?

Well, look at it this way; if you had the chance of making friends with a bunch of people who behave as badly as we humans do, wouldn't you think twice about it?

MoD Confirms Release of UFO Reports (Dec 2007)

(UK) UFO Researchers Secure Release Of MoD UFO Documentation. Very recently (21st Dec 2007) Joe McGonagle of UK-UFO.org announced that:

“Following sustained pressure by a small number of UFO researchers during the last 8 years, the British Ministry of Defence have decided to release all of their UFO files. (For the full details of the planned release, visit: UK-UFO.org).

Visit: UK-UFO.org

Gary Anthony, Dave Clarke, and Joe McGonagle have been making full use of the Freedom of Information Act and its precursor, the Code of Practice on access to Government information. At considerable personal expense, effort, and investment of time the three of us have submitted a steady stream of requests. As well as making requests ourselves, we actively encouraged and assisted other ufologists to make their own requests.”

Anybody who is interested in UFOlogy, especially as it relates to the UK and to the “Official” stance of the government owe these researchers at the very least a word of thanks as even anyone who's unaware of the previous achievements of this small but dedicated group will undoubtedly be aware of the many documents that they have been instrumental in obtaining the release of. As far back as 2001, Dave Clarke and Andy Roberts discovered the existence and much more importantly secured the release of documents relating directly to the sensationally named, “Flying Saucer Working Party”. Some of these documents were retained for a further six years before Dave Clarke finally secured release of the sections which were earlier withheld under Section 3(4) of the Public Records Act. (8th February 2007).

And there's also, “Project Condign” Britain 's Secret UFO Study which was the first ever document obtained under the FoIA with a, “SECRET” classification. The researchers meticulous gathering and analysis of documents first identified the existence of the, “Condign report” in 2005 and then promptly secured its release in 2006. A release of information which Dave Clarke doggedly pursued and upon appeal forced the further release of details which were previously claimed too sensitive. Rather than highlight all of their remarkable achievements, I suggest that you visit (and bookmark!!) their main/updates page which has full details and all relevant links to these and many other FOIA requests. (UK-UFO.org updates page).

This recent revelation is the culmination of many years work some of which dates back to 2003 while actively pursuing the release of information via FoIA requests they discovered that DI55 (the Defence Intelligence Branch charged with the investigation of UFO reports) were considering physically destroying millions of pages of files due to asbestos contamination, some of which were specifically created by DI55 in relation to UFO reports. These were just a small percentage of the files which were earmarked for destruction, however all of the files combined covered a diverse and eclectic array of topics which they argued were representative of a key period of military and political history and as such it would be a travesty to simply destroy and ultimately erase these records in their entirety.

Rather than simply sit back and await a decision regarding the demise of these files, they instead launched a campaign enlisting support from MP's, academics, the media, the UFO community and raised awareness among the general public. After rethinking their position the MoD subsequently initiated a costly (estimated at around 3 million pounds!!) project of digitally scanning, archiving and collating the files prior to their destruction. The researchers ensured the progress of this project was closely monitored and periodic updates were requested and granted from the Departmental Records Officer at the MoD, thus ensuring that the details of the project were firmly kept in the public domain.

The scanning stage of the contaminated UFO files was completed early 2007 and as the UK-UFO.org website states:

“This prompted a dialogue within the MoD as to the future release of files. Due to the volume of requests about UFOs received by Defence Intelligence, they discussed the viability of a staged, wholesale release, and concluded in April 2007 that this was the preferred way forward. This encouraged the Directorate of Air Space (DAS, the MoD agency charged with filtering reports before passing those thought to be of defence interest to other MoD branches including DI55) to make a similar evaluation and they have now also reached a decision for a staged release of all of their UFO records.”

The following is from a document obtained under a FoIA request and that was originally dated March 2007. An internal letter which discusses the full release of the documents and leaves no doubt as to the significance of the role the researchers (especially Dave Clarke) played, which was instrumental in this unprecedented release of all MoD UFO documents:

“I agree absolutely that we cannot sustain the current level of FOI requests. I have spoken to (name removed) - the AD in my area that is the only one left in DIST who knows anything. He feels strongly that the campaign is being led by one man and the cumulative resource implications of what he has been asking for is considerable. We expect this to continue.”

The story has since filtered through the tabloids, I was a little disappointed to see that the UK 's Daily Telegraph (online version) chose to extensively quote Nick Pope with absolutely no mention of Dave Clarke and the other researchers at UK-UFO.org. I have no doubt that this omission will subsequently be perpetuated throughout the internet on News websites, Blogs, forums etc.

Black Triangle UFO, Halesowen, UK (Nov 28th, 2007)

Black Triangle UFO, Halesowen, UK (Nov 28th, 2007)

Dorito Shaped UFO seen in skies.

A UFO, described by witnesses as looking like a huge “Dorito” crisp has been filmed over the skies of the Black Country, according to a paranormal group. A flurry of calls has been made to Stourbridge-based UFO Research Midlands (UFORM) from those claiming to have witnessed the flying object in the sky. Witnesses say they spotted it in Halesowen heading towards Stourbridge on Wednesday at around 7pm.

UFORM is now appealing for anyone else who saw it to get in touch to help it compile its X-files. Steve Poole, UFORM chairman, said one man filmed more than 30 seconds of footage of the craft travelling in a westerly direction from Halesowen to Stourbridge, saying:

“The object has been described as looking like a huge Dorito and had distinctive red lights on its underside, which moved position while the craft was flying.”

Another witness reported seeing it while looking out from the Lickey Hills towards the Sutton area of Birmingham . The witness says he watched the UFO through binoculars as it moved “very quickly” across the skyline. Two other independent collaborators came forward within hours of the sighting, according to UFORM.

UFORM operates a 24-hour hotline for the public to report UFO incidents. Steve Poole said:

“This could turn out to be a pretty substantial sighting, especially given that one of the witnesses has filmed the event. We would like to hear from anyone else who may have seen this object. They can remain anonymous if they like.”

UFORM was set up in 1995 by Steve Poole to coincide with the massive increase in UFO sightings in the West Midlands . Now with dozens of members, the group holds monthly meetings in Stourbridge with internationally renowned guest speakers, hosts sky-watches and acts as the leading research organisation in the area for anyone interested in the UFO phenomenon.

Readers have been calling in their droves to tell us they saw the huge “Dorito” UFO in the skies over the Black Country . The orange triangle with its three lights was seen over Wednesfield and Dudley by scores of people who phoned the newspaper after an appeal for information. A flurry of calls was made to Stourbridge based UFO Research Midlands, UFORM, from those claiming to have witnessed an unexplained aircraft in the sky.

Here's why a Black Triangle UFO could be described as a Dorito!!

Using the Belgian, "Petit Rechain" Black Triangle image.

The flying object was spotted over Halesowen heading towards Stourbridge on Wednesday at around 7pm. Katherine Hemmings, aged 13, of Beechwood Avenue, saw it at 4pm over Wednesfield High School in Lichfield Road. She was walking home with friends Tasmin Jones and Chelsea Smith when the three felt compelled to turn around:

“It was weird because it wasn't making any noise but for some reason we turned around…….We all saw this big thing with lights in the sky.......We didn't tell anyone other than our families at first because we thought everyone would laugh at us. Our families didn't know what to think until they saw it in the paper. I have never really believed something like that would be real. I always just thought people who say they have seen a UFO are seeing aeroplanes or birds.”

Pat Scotford and her husband Mick saw the UFO when they were in their garden in Devon Road , Wollaston at around 7.30pm.

Mrs Scotford, aged 61, said she too saw three orange lights in the sky:

“It looked like it was heading towards Kinver…..At first I thought it was three planes flying in formation but the lights were far too close together. I'm sure we're not alone in the universe.”

Steve Poole, chairman of UFORM, said one man filmed over 30 seconds of footage of the craft and Lisa Timmins, aged 38, saw the object while at her boyfriend's house in Whitgreave Avenue, Bushbury, some time between 6.15pm and 6.40pm. She said:

“I haven't got a clue what it was, but it was quite big.”

Sunderland Echo - 14 November 2007 - UFO spotted over Sunderland - VIDEO

Did space invaders come to Sunderland?

(I happened across this recent article, and as it's my neck of the woods......)

Mum-of-four, Neala Fenton, was pacing the floor in the early hours rocking her baby son back to sleep when she looked out the window and spotted a strange light overhead in the night sky. The 26-year-old grabbed her mobile phone and managed to capture 10 minutes of video footage of the UFO with shining blue and pink lights.

Neala said she had been woken by her five-month-old son, Brandon, shortly before 5am on Monday. The New Herrington housewife said: "I had given him a bottle and was just walking about getting him back to sleep when I looked out of the window and saw this really bright light.

"I wondered what it was and got my phone so I could zoom up on it…….It was like nothing I have ever seen. It was bouncing around and there were different coloured bright lights coming from it."

Neala, who is also mum to Charlotte, seven, Ashleigh, two, and 18-month-old Sarah, said the object was not a plane of any description because it wasn't flying anywhere. She said: "At first it looked like it was just still, but afterwards it was sort of bouncing around, but mostly in the same place. It was in the sky, but not too high up, not as high as a plane would fly."

Neala, who lives in Railway Terrace, said she tried to wake husband Eddie, 25, to take a look, but he said it would be nothing and went back to sleep. She said: "My husband used to be a soldier so I thought he might know what it was. When he got up later I showed him the footage and he couldn't believe it. He said it wasn't a satellite and he hadn't seen anything like it before."

Neala said in the past she has always been sceptical of people saying they had seen UFOs, but she really can't find any explanation for what she saw.

UFO Photographed 10th September 2007 – Rugby UK

UFO Report Rugby , Warwickshire, England. (10th September 2007)

Submitted to UFO Casebook by Geoff Pottle

The above image was submitted to UFOCasebook.com, with this accompanying email.

“This photo was taken at about 2.30pm on 10th September 2007 just out in my back garden. The weather was clear, warm and almost cloudless.

I was just really testing out how my digital camera would take the sun, and without really looking (more point and hope). (I did not at any point look directly into the sun for obvious reasons). Anyhow after transfering a couple of shots on the last picture I saw a shape in the bottom left of the image. Wasn`t sure if it was a plane or a satellite maybe?

Thank you.”

UFO Report – Bowdon, Trafford, UK - (Spotted On August 28, 2007)

UFO Report – Bowdon, Trafford, UK - (Spotted On August 28, 2007)

UFO Sighting - Bowdon, Trafford - UK
UFO Sighting - Bowdon, Trafford - UK

August 28, 2007 - A MOTORIST and passenger in Bowdon spotted a mysterious "round and metallic" object in the sky.

The orb was sighted above the A56 near Altrincham on August 28 at about 7pm and the witnesses posted their account on a international UFO research website. The driver said they saw a bright object that did not seem to have a colour. It appeared to be a metallic substance reflecting in the evening sunlight'.

They added it was round and looked big even though it was so high up. As they looked up it seemed to hover completely still and then shot off from a standstill like a bullet fired from a gun'.

Stuart Miller, editor of UFO Review, said this is the first mysterious sighting in the Trafford area for many years. "This could have been a natural phenomenon ..... or it could have been an alien spacecraft from another world. Who knows?"

He explained: "This could have been a natural phenomenon, part of some military activity, a mistake on the witnesses part or it could have been an alien spacecraft from another world. Who knows?" Stuart says the most well known UFO case in recent years involved a passenger aeroplane, just before it landed at Manchester Airport in January 1995.

"The pilot had just come over the Pennines and was flying into Manchester at about 4,000 ft. He saw a lighted object on his right hand side travelling in the opposite direction. It was wedged shaped' and had a black stripe down the side.

"The plane landed safely at Manchester Airport a short time later. Despite exhaustive investigations the reported object remains untraced but there is a radar record - no one really knows what it was."

Big Brother Watches Over Orwellian Britain

Would You Mistake This Mobile Police CCTV Unit For A UFO At First Glance?!?

Britain ranks #1 in the Global league table for the ratio of cameras to people, with 20% of all the world's CCTV cameras being used in Britain.

There is ONE CCTV camera for EVERY THIRTEEN people living in the Britain.

And what is the percentage of the level of improvement of detection rates (of violent offences) since the introduction of CCTV? Yep, an overall 0% increase in detection rates!!

Hampshire Police Chief Constable Speaks Out Over Orwellian Society

Deputy Chief Constable of Hampshire Police, Ian Readhead has questioned the extensive use of CCTV cameras, especially so in small towns such as Stockbridge (which is part of the Hampshire Force Area) where parish councillors have spent £10,000 installing CCTV.

Ian Readhead was speaking to BBC One's, “Politics Show”.

"I'm really concerned about what happens to the product of these cameras, and what comes next. If it's in our villages, are we really moving towards an Orwellian situation where cameras are at every street corner? And I really don't think that's the kind of country that I want to live in”.

The National DNA Database

Another database that has grown alarmingly in the past two years is the National DNA Database, Mr Readhead as well as calling for tighter restrictions on CCTV is raising the issue of why so much DNA is being kept.

This is as well as Police indiscriminately taking & storing DNA from every person they question or arrest, guilty or innocent!!

Hundreds of thousands of children aged between 10 and 18 have had their DNA added to the database despite never being cautioned or charged for any offence.

Originally touted as a, “Database for known offenders” it is quick becoming a database of the mass populous, with over 3.7 million Britons on it and this number is increasing rapidly.

This should ring alarm bells for everyone, especially with the, soon to be compulsory Identity Card. The Database State has arrived!!

And surely this is defeating the object of the full goal of the exercise, or at least the goal as we were previously lead to believe. For rather than having a National DNA Database of known offenders which they could more easily index, it appears that they are compiling a database of the entire country which surely at the very least interfere with the speed of the entire process. Because instead of searching through just the criminals' DNA, they will have to sort through the entire DNA Database for comparisons, ultimately costing more time, effort and money.

There are an estimated 4.2 million CCTV cameras in Britain. One for every 13 people.

Information Commissioner Richard Thomas has raised concerns about Britain , "Sleepwalking into a surveillance society" with more cameras on the street and extensive monitoring of consumer behaviour.

The day after Deputy Chief Constable of Hampshire Police voiced his growing concerns over the increase of CCTV cameras, a new Police, “Spy Drone” is announced in Britain!!

A, “Spy Drone” which was originally used for military reconnaissance was unveiled and paraded for the public today. The silent, “Eye in the sky” was revealed the day after Deputy Chief Constable of Hampshire Police, Ian Readhead voiced his fears over Britain becoming an, “Orwellian” society.

Officially titled, “The Microdrone,” it measures a mere 2ft between the tips of its eight rotor blades. While almost completely silent it is designed to hover above crime scenes and send footage to officers on the ground. It only has a maximum speed of 15mph but can take off and land in all weathers.

It is to be trialled in Liverpool and is the first time anything like this has been, and I quote, “Put to civilian use in this country”. (Which for myself, raised the immediate response of when and why has <as is implied> the military used this in Britain? But I digress.)

The Police are hoping that the Microdrone will eventually replace many flights that their existing manned helicopter currently undertakes and more importantly at a significantly reduced cost. Or at the very least offer valuable assistance to the helicopter and its crew. Also the Microdrone will be used in conjunction with existing mobile CCTV vans, which have been in use for quite a while now.

The business development manager for Microdrone. Alistair Fox said that,

"We believe they are ideal for police use -they can be up in the air in just three minutes, they are relatively easy to fly, and they can provide high-quality images back to officers on the ground. They don't need clearance from the Civil Aviation Authority because as they weigh less than 7kg they are officially classified as toys”.

Talking CCTV Cameras

And all of this comes around a month after it was announced trials are commencing of talking CCTV cameras (which are already under way in Middlesbrough among other places). And all of this is being engineered with NO PROOF that any type of CCTV cameras do any good in preventing or reducing crime!!

In fact quite the opposite, as the number of CCTV cameras has risen, so has violent crime and robbery.

So, if even the people who are governed with policing the areas are voicing concerns that the government are constantly installing new cameras and as it's evidently not deterring the criminals, one has to question if there is an ulterior motive at play?

So we have an increase in CCTV cameras as well as ones fitted with speakers which enables the operator to speak to people that they are viewing, we have military style UAV's being employed in civilian sectors by the British Police. Again with speakers and the ability for communication. Is the governments insistence on pushing the introduction of Identity cards for all UK residents borne from keeping its citizens best interests at heart, or is it really just a megalomaniacal need for more power and ultimately more control?

Is, "Transformational Government" just Doublespeak for, "The Database State"

"Transformational Government" is the current, “Buzzword”. Doesn't sound that bad does it? A little bit vague perhaps. Well, the idea of it (and ultimately of the Identity cards) is to link all of the existing databases together or at least to allow the National Identity Register (NIR) to index them.

This means that your NIR number will basically be the barcode of your entire life. Another new phrase being proffered by the, “Transformational Government” is, “Information Sharing”. Oh yes, it gets better!! Any information you share with a public servant in any sector, could be electronically passed to just about anyone!! Or worst, accessed by criminals (and I don't mean just the government!!)

Everyone over the age of 16 will be required to register for an ID card. ”The Identity Cards Act” sets out fifty different sorts of information to be held on each individual, these range from name, address and date of birth to a record of all the occasions on which your record has been accessed and by whom. Also, Home Office regulations pushed through makes it possible to indefinitely extend this list in the future.

The NIR is covered by the Data Protection Act 1998, so theoretically an individual will be able to see the NIR information held on him/her. However a little further investigation uncovers that the Data Protection Act itself qualifies for several exemptions for viewing information that is used by government.

Even though you may be allowed to check the data that is stored, you are unable to correct any wrong information that is being held about yourself!! Also stressed is that, “You are personally responsible for the accuracy of the information!” How you can guarantee any form of accuracy when you apparently are offered no control over the final data which is included in the finished file is a little unclear.

Also, the Home Secretary has the power to change information held about you at any time, without your prior knowledge or consent. And indeed, no notification after the change of data is required or offered.

Britain is supposed to be a, “Western Democracy,” isn't it?

What's next for Britain? A Ministry Of Love (Miniluv), Telescreens and The Thought Police?

Rather than the Totalitarian approach of regulating nearly every aspect of public and private behaviour, the British Government it would appear is instead intent on cataloguing every aspect of public and private behaviour.

But to what end?

And more importantly, will it justify the means?

Watch Look North, Leeds UFO News Report – February 2007

Even regional TV is getting in on the UFO act by airing footage that they received from a viewer of a UFO. A Look North weatherman being the recipient, the report also includes a spectacular photo of lenticular cloud formation, a subject which adds a little credence to a couple of UFO debunkers theories, as from a distance they, “Could” appear similar to a UFO.

Lenticular Cloud - Mistaken For UFO's
I've also included a couple of pictures of lenticular clouds,
so you can judge for yourself.

Clip also includes second broadcast the following day when it's thought to be debris re-entering the earths atmosphere.

The Flying Saucer Working Party - UK Government UFO Deception

The Flying Saucer Working Party - UK Government UFO Deception

Before I start with this I feel it's necessary to point out that The Ministry Of Defence (MOD) has always categorically denied that any investigation into UFO's, their origins and their threat level had took place Even when the minutes of this <strenuously denied> non-existent committee came to light in 1999, the report it produced could not be found. The document was conveniently, “Absent” from the catalogue at the Public Record Office (now the TNA). Staff eventually concluded that apparently the document, “Had not survived the passage of time.”

Sir Henry Tizard

The story starts with a man named, Sir Henry Tizard, one of Churchill's most trusted scientific advisors. At the start of the First World War, Tizard signed up to the Royal Garrison Artillery before becoming experimental equipment officer to the Royal Flying Corps. Then the Ministry of Munitions from 1918 to 1919. When the war finished he was made Reader in Chemical Thermodynamics at Oxford where he pioneered the concept of, “Octane Numbers.” Then back to the government and a job as assistant secretary to the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research which in turn <among other things> lead to Director of Scientific Research to the Air Force and finally as the Rector of Imperial College, London, (1929-1942.)

1933 saw Tizzard appointed as Chairman of the Aeronautical Research Committee a post which he occupied for most of the Second World War. In the run up to the war Tizard was heavily involved in pioneering radar, then in 1940 after a top secret conference with Churchill in which he had been overruled on an objection to Reginald Victor Jones's view that the Germans had established a system of radio-beam bombing aids over the UK, he commenced on, “The Tizard Mission.” On this mission he introduced British radar developments to the United States and other interested parties. 1948 and a return to the MOD as Chief Scientific Advisor (1948-1952).

It was while Tizard was in this post that he flexed the muscle of Chief Scientific Advisor and stated that, “UFO sightings should not be dismissed without some form of proper scientific study.” It was due almost exclusively to Tizzards insistence that a small Directorate of Scientific Intelligence/Joint Technical Intelligence Committee (DSI/JTIC) working party was to be set up to further investigate the phenomenon.

The infamously named, “The Flying Saucer Working Party.”

It is also worth noting at this point that by mid 1950 there was a war in Korea and Russia had just successfully tested their first atomic bomb, thus creating even more pressure and adding to the question as to who or what was frequently invading British and American airspace in the form of UFO's.

The DSI/JTIC minutes stated,

The Chairman said that Sir Henry Tizard felt that reports of flying saucers ought not to be dismissed without some investigation and he had, therefore, agreed that a small DSI/JTIC Working Party should be set up under the chairmanship of Mr Turney to investigate future reports. It was agreed that the membership of the Working Party should comprise representatives of DSI1, ADNI(Tech), MI10 and ADI(Tech). It was further agreed that it would be necessary at some time to consult the Meteorological Department and ORS Fighter Command but that these two bodies should not be asked to nominate representatives”

The Flying Saucer Working Party Is Born

The Flying Saucer Working Party had five high ranking members. These were selected from the elite Technical Intelligence branches of the Air Ministry, Admiralty, War Office and Ministry of Defence. It's first meeting was in October 1950 and as a result of this meeting, the Royal Navy and the RAF were asked to submit all UFO sightings directly to the Flying Saucer Working Party.

When the National Archives released this information the background was outlined and was as follows:

Terms Of Reference For The Flying Saucer Working Party.

  1. To review the available evidence in reports of ‘Flying Saucers'.

  2. To examine from now on the evidence on which rep orts of British origin of phenomena attributed to ‘Flying Saucers' are based.

  3. To report to DSI/JTIC as necessary.

  4. To keep in touch with American occurrences and evaluation of such.
