YouTube Haiti UFO Hoaxer Reveals Other YouTube UFO Videos

I'm sure everyone has seen and can remember the furore that the YouTube video of a UFO in Haiti caused last year, the video views are currently at a staggering 7,404,911 and is only six months old.

YouTube Haiti UFO Hoax

A couple of days after it was released I created a short video on why I personally believed it was fake.

David Nicolas later released another video to LATimes showing what appeared to be two grannies flying the same UFO as in the Haiti video by using a remote control, it was of course CGI but a lot of people missed this subtle point and thought it was an actual remote controlled vehicle such was the quality of the video.

I know the vast majority of people realised that the Haiti YouTube video was undoubtedly a hoax, more...especially so after David Sarno of the LA Times secured an interview with the creator/hoaxer of the clip. Incredulously, there were STILL people who doubted the validity of the admission, I guess you just can't tell some people. Here's an interview with David Sarno where he explains who by, how and why the UFO's were created.

The creator, David Nicolas (a.k.a. Barzolff814) is part of Partizan. which is an international community of directors with offices in London , Los Angeles , New York and Paris . Since launching in 1991 we have developed some of the most talented and exciting directors in the world.

Partizan began by making music videos, then grew and expanded into commercials, short films, feature films, and more recently TV content and branded content. His biography page at Partizan says that:

Definitive Proof of Haiti UFO Hoax (Again)

----------

“David Nicolas was born in 1969 in Aix-en-Provence where he spent the early days of his childhood. At a very young age, drawing started to play a large role in his life and with his older brother Laurent, they started experimenting with drawings together.

David's first foray into the Dark Room came when he took the internet by storm with a series of viral films he made while researching his first feature project, a comedy about the biggest UFO hoax of all time. The film is to be produced by Partizan Films over the next year. The clips David made showed UFOs flying across the skies of Haiti , the Dominican Republic and Brooklyn . They clocked up over 3 million hits within their first two weeks on YouTube and were featured in the LA Times, on CNN and on Fox News.

At the age of 21, after sitting an entrance exam, David was accepted into the, “Gobelins de Paris” School of animation where he studied for 3 years. He acquired a basic knowledge of animation and briefly started to work on 3D animation. With the help of his computer, he taught himself how to make his first short films in 2D animation.”

Nicolas has since revealed that he created (and released on YouTube) several prequels to the Haiti UFO clip, the chances are that you've inadvertently seen these already, but just in case, here they are!!

YouTube Video Shows UFO sighting by Marines In Iraq (Jan, 2008)

On the 5th January, YouTube user, “Brintonsdad” (BD) uploaded a video clip of a squad of Marines on patrol in Iraq who capture on video something that at the present time are unable to explain.

The information that was posted to accompany the video was as follows:

“On the night of January 2nd 2008 a group of Marines on patrol in Iraq have a close encounter of the first kind with...?”

UFOs sighted by Marines in Iraq

BD is genuinely as intrigued by the footage as everyone else seems to be and says that personally he's leaning towards some sort of meteorological phenomenon although at the moment he has no idea what that may be!! BD has even contacted a meteorologist and the general consensus seems to be that they are a phenomenon know as, “Light Pillars”.

BD says that the footage was posted to him over the internet by his Nephew who is a squad leader currently serving in Iraq and details are sketchy as he was (and still is) on active assignment. BD thinks that the footage is most likely captured in the Eastern part of the country.

A light pillar is a visual phenomenon created by the reflection of light from ice crystals, if the light is from the sun then it's commonly known as a sun/solar pillar. This phenomenon is similar to, “Sundogs” which reveal that the clouds are hosting horizontal plate crystals, the plates drift slowly downwards like a falling leaf with their large faces almost exactly horizontal, causing the visual effect. In light pillars those crystals with plate or column shapes provide an excellent surface from which the light may reflect toward the viewer's eyes. They can also occur at night but under these circumstances they require a bright source of light which can sometimes be provided by powerful terrestrial sources (such as street/security lamps) or more commonly by the moon.

The light pillar theory is certainly a possibility and one I feel shouldn't be ruled out, especially as January is noted as being one of the coldest months in Iraq with the temperature often dropping below freezing which would certainly facilitate the forming of the ice crystals in the clouds, allowing for the formation of light pillars, and of course the lights certainly are in the clouds.

A lot of the YouTube user comments mention spotlights, I feel that spotlights can be safely ruled out for many reasons, the main two being I'm sure the Marines would be aware of them if it were the case and of course why on earth would there be spotlights in Iraq at all?

The glow you can see at the bottom of the screen (in the original video) is a small town and is apparently unrelated to the light sources in the sky (unless of course it's the source of the light which is hitting the ice crystals in the sky and causing the effect) unfortunately due to the night vision it can't be determined if the light sources are the same colour as if they were then that would obviously lean towards the, "Light pillar" theory being correct.

EDIT TO ADD - Not long after posting this I received a comment by an Italian Blogger called, “RL”. (See comments at bottom of page). RL provided a link to quite an extensive website (CAELESTIA – Latin, "Affairs of the heavens”) documenting many unidentified aerial phenomena and attempts to explain them in more prosaic terms. While undoubtedly there will be some UFOs/UAPs that will still resist any kind of explanation I personally feel that we MUST consider all known earthly possibilities before any kind of opinion can be formed.

While I hasten to add that of course, “Light pillars” present a possible explanation rather than a definite one I'd like to thank RL for the link and I include it here as I found it very informative.

“The present study is a first attempt to bring together sightings from different parts of the world. In the process of unearthing this material, it was found that the ignorance surrounding the phenomenon persists to this day. Because of this, reports of light pillars have sparked unwarranted speculation, not only from ufologists and conspirationalists (who are inclined to attribute the sightings to extraterrestrial spaceships or secret military tests), but also among astronomers and meteorologists (who sometimes mistake them for auroral pillars, a specific type of aurora that shows as vertical streaks of light). A situation that is hard to understand, especially in the light of the findings published by the early amateur astronomers cited above.”

New "Silver Orbs" UFO Video From Rio Bravo, Mexico (Jan, 2008)

UFO Video - Rio Bravo, Mexico

Another presentation and brief analysis by Ana Luisa Cid, you may remember the recent, “Costa Rica UFO - Teletica Channel 7 - (Nov 20th, 2007)” which was a stunning (YouTube) UFO video with subsequent analysis.

I found the earlier UFO video to be a great deal more convincing than this one but having said that this one is still a great deal better than the vast majority of UFO footage that has recently been posted on the internet. When I say better I mean of course as a full package, i.e. the complete report as undoubtedly there's been quite a few CGI creations posted to YouTube but these are instantly recognisable for what they are and while the footage is visually better, the chances of it being a real aerial phenomena are often zero.....

However, and having said that, I still have a few reservations regarding this particular video as there (in my mind) is a distinct possibility it could merely be birds as I believe the movement and the brightness of the objects has led to similar misidentifications being made in the past.

The Journal of Hispanic Ufology (January 9, 2008)

UFO Video From Rio Bravo, Mexico

Video taken by Jose Alonso Galicia Fabela on Dec 4, 2007 at 16:32 hours.

"It was taken when Alonso left the camera recording on the tripod over his house before going downstairs for lunch. After reviewing the tape, he found what he describes as a "line of silver orbs". It should be noted that this is not the first time that he has left his camera running and unattended while he engages in other activities. He has previously sent Ana Luisa Cid video material that was gleaned in the same manner. To the extent visible in the video, the objects do not travel together, and for this reason we dismiss the possibility that they could be a cluster of balloons, although other possibilities have yet to be examined."

Alleged UFO Crash 1974: Andean mountains of Peru - Humanoid Alien (YouTube)

A YouTube user named, “stevenng2020” recently uploaded 4 short videos (Oct 2007) that purports to show a deceased alien.

Comment with video says, “In January of 1974 an unidentified flying object (UFO) fell in the Andean mountains of Peru. The Military authorities denied what had happened, but some people were there before them and took something very valuable.....a HUMANOID (Alien). What you gonna see here is the dead Alien body that was keep over 33 years.”

Personally, I don’t think the user did himself any favours by teasing the footage out into four parts and duplicating information at the start of each clip, anyway here’s all four clips back-to-back.
