Police Helicopter ‘Swerves' To Avoid UFO

From what we've been told so far then this particular report is certainly a strange one and again involving a police helicopter which I wrote about back in June, “UK UFO – Police Helicopter Crew Reports UFO.” Anyway here's the more recent report as originally posted by the Birmingham Mail on the 21 st November, 2008 but actually occured almost 5 weeks prior to the earlier report.

UFO involved in a dramatic incident.

A POLICE helicopter flying over Birmingham narrowly avoided tragedy when it nearly collided with a UFO, a report has claimed. The pilot managed to swerve out of the mystery aircraft's way while he was on a routine police surveillance task over the city centre earlier this year. The helicopter was also carrying two police observers during the journey at around 9.50pm on May 2nd.

All three reported seeing an aircraft with two continuous blue/green lights – but were unable to identify what it was. The extraordinary incident is detailed in a document compiled by experts from the Airprox Board, which records near misses and reports them to the military and air traffic control units.

The report stated: “ The front observer saw unidentified lights flying around their aircraft. The pilot established visual contact, as he manoeuvred the aircraft to avoid a collision and to identify the light source.”

The object was less than 100m away and flew around them. The pilot told the Airprox Board he thought the intent may either have been sinister or just someone messing around. It was initially believed that the object was a radio controlled aircraft and that it was purposefully flown around the helicopter.

The report stated: “He (the pilot) believes the lights may have come from a radio controlled fixed wing aircraft, the lights being to assist with night flying.”

Despite searching the area with a thermal camera, the pilot was unable to find any signs of radio-controlled model activity. And the British Model Flying Association ruled out the possibility, saying the mystery object was flying too high to be a miniature craft. Leading expert Nick Pope, who previously worked for the Ministry of Defence's UFO desk and is nicknamed the British Fox Mulder, told the Birmingham Mail today:

“A helicopter was nearly blown out of the sky…..This is a very disturbing incident which needs to be thoroughly investigated by the MoD and the Civil Aviation Authority as well as other near misses…..The conclusion on the report is unsatisfactory especially when this aircraft came within seconds of a collision. It is a very interesting case especially when you look at the eyewitnesses. They are credible and reliable sources who have experience in night time flying…..This sighting clearly illustrates that whatever one believes about UFOs, this incident raises important air safety issues and should be taken seriously.”

Costa Rica UFO - Teletica Channel 7 - (Nov 20th, 2007)

A recently captured UFO video has appeared on YouTube, courtesy of Teletica Channel 7 of Costa Rica and analysis by Ana Luisa Cid.

(Translated Text) In a town near San Jose , capital of Costa Rica , Mr. Marvin Badilla achieved a very interesting video, a possible ovni Disk seems that turning on the spot and make changes in a matter of seconds.

The sighting occurred last Tuesday, November 20 at 3:49 evening, when he was sanding wood outdoors. SOME ASPECTS OF VIDEO

• Recorded with a Motorola cellular phone, format 3GP.
• It lasts from 15:06 seconds.
• Presents a cut when 3:19, when applied zoom, which can be normal in some models of mobile phones when using the approach. This information should be verified with a phone identical to the witness.
• The object appears to rotate reflecting sunlight.
• Remains Static and then changes its position leaning to the left and right in fraction of seconds, showing other aspects such as: Top View, side and bottom, respectively.

Sequence frames

PERSONAL OPINION (Analysis of the video by Ana Luisa Cid-YouTube)

• After reviewing the video several times, in slow motion and frame by frame, I think that there is a genuine and material while it is true that at present can be created "UFO" in the computer, it is also true that many people around the world have reported and documented this type of device.
• He strikes me as an honest man and I think likely to have experienced a sighting.
• External my opinion as a preliminary and need to know that the investigations into the ufólogos of Costa Rica . They surely would have a more qualified under that may interview witnesses and assist the place to do field work.
• I recommend that we are vigilant in following up this case through news reports and Teletica Oscar Sierra.

Did space invaders come to Sunderland?

(I happened across this recent article, and as it's my neck of the woods......)

Mum-of-four, Neala Fenton, was pacing the floor in the early hours rocking her baby son back to sleep when she looked out the window and spotted a strange light overhead in the night sky. The 26-year-old grabbed her mobile phone and managed to capture 10 minutes of video footage of the UFO with shining blue and pink lights.

Neala said she had been woken by her five-month-old son, Brandon, shortly before 5am on Monday. The New Herrington housewife said: "I had given him a bottle and was just walking about getting him back to sleep when I looked out of the window and saw this really bright light.

"I wondered what it was and got my phone so I could zoom up on it…….It was like nothing I have ever seen. It was bouncing around and there were different coloured bright lights coming from it."

Neala, who is also mum to Charlotte, seven, Ashleigh, two, and 18-month-old Sarah, said the object was not a plane of any description because it wasn't flying anywhere. She said: "At first it looked like it was just still, but afterwards it was sort of bouncing around, but mostly in the same place. It was in the sky, but not too high up, not as high as a plane would fly."

Neala, who lives in Railway Terrace, said she tried to wake husband Eddie, 25, to take a look, but he said it would be nothing and went back to sleep. She said: "My husband used to be a soldier so I thought he might know what it was. When he got up later I showed him the footage and he couldn't believe it. He said it wasn't a satellite and he hadn't seen anything like it before."

Neala said in the past she has always been sceptical of people saying they had seen UFOs, but she really can't find any explanation for what she saw.
